A closer reading of the QA1 post seems to indicate that the participants (QA1) wont be arriving at the Fairgrounds until after 9:15am...the hours for their "party" indicate 7 to 9:15. so the Dawn Patrol is still necessary to have cars in our spot and set up early as possible.

Found out today my buddy with the yellow 66 got accepted into the real street eliminator competition. Will be cool to see how he does. Though I don't know if him or his kid has the driving skills to be any good at it.

I think Justin (the son) would do better. He's got the idea and practice of performance driving down better than George, though George would drive it like he stole it. Unfortunately, I think he would overpower and overdrive the course.

What do they have for tires and suspension?
I can help them out with car setup and adjustments on Saturday and Sunday if they've never done it before.

I'll even offer to drive, because I'm such a nice guy. cool

I know they did some tubular upper and lowers on the front with coil over shocks. The rear I think is stock maybe it has boxed control arms but I don't know for sure. It has some 17 or 18 inch tires but again I don't know the brand. I am sure they would appreciate help as I know they have never done anything like this before. I can talk with him and try and get some more specs on there setup.

If they REALLY want to drive it well, the Mn Autosports Club is having their autocross "Novice School" this weekend... it's a 2-day school with classroom Saturday and driving with instructors Sunday. Registration is closed, but they didn't fill it up, so I'll see if they're allowing any walk-up registrations.

They'd have to attend both days if they're doing it though.

Not sure if anyone is doing a head count for car spots on Friday? I plan to come in the morning and park with the club if space is avaliable. Pre 10:30 as I know you can no longer save spots then. No dawn patrol for me.

Actually, the closer to 8 a.m. the better as spots fill up quick within the NCC roped off area.

I feel like I will be late rolling in at 9:30 with the QA 1 group.  Hopefully the club guys parking cars will leave a few open spots for those of us in the cruise-in.

I will be there Friday with my nephew, Saturday with Shannan (as of last night anyway...always subject to change rolleyes ) and undecided about Sunday.  Will be driving my F*** as the Chevelle is still needing to get deeper into CAC, and then out of CAC, before coming out of hibernation.

If you see her sister avoid her, she is a hot, hot headed red head. She is not to be trusted and may have even changed her hair color in an effort to avoid the police; yep she's a bad one.

I didn't pre-resister, so can't do QA1.

I can't run in the RSE competition again, since I won last year.

So, I'm just gonna chill and help a couple pals that are competing in RSE, and hang with you guys...

See ya Friday!

He's planning on it, yes! So is Nate...have you met Nate yet? He's over 700 rear-wheel horses so far in his dark green LS/turbo '71 Nova that also competed last year. It should be fun to watch these guys go at it!

All systems are a "Go"... we're in our usual spot.

Thank you Ian, Craig, Jon H, Mike S, and a new member (who I've forgotten his name) for helping set up the cones & ropes!!

Going to clean up and get to bed... Dawn Patrol is calling in 7 hours.

That's him! He's had it to one event since finishing it. Not much track time or seat time...but it's got all the good stuff under it.

I know CC isn't over yet... but I won't be there tomorrow due to a business trip.  So, I wanted to thank everyone for working hard on CC this year, and the great turnout today including Chuck Hanson sitting in with us for awhile!

Shout outs go to:

John D., Craig S., and Jon H. for roping off 'Chevelle Row' again this year on Thursday

The 'Dawn Patrol' for setting everthing up Friday morning, including John D. and Chad for setting up the pop ups this morning in the rain

Chad for picking up the donuts this a.m., and coordinating the delivery of Jimmy John's to the fairgrounds for lunch today

Bryan for getting the 'Chevelle Row' signs & NCC Show flyers in time for CC

And I'm sure others that helped that I didn't mention or were aware of, but as always a great effort by many club members!

We talked to a lot of potential members today, and signed up one member.

I'm sure there will be more fun tomorrow, but I wanted to make sure I got this out there before I left.

Thanks everyone for another fun time at Car Craft!   tiphat

Thanks to all. As a new member and someone who was attending CarCraft for the first time, it was good finally get out there to see the show, even as a walker.
Hopefully my 71 and my schedule will allow for a higher level of participation next year.
good to visit with you all

Speaking of proud moments.  I apologize in advance for braging but I can't help myself.  Our Chevelle was awarded Best in Show Chevrolet on Saturday at Car Craft.  To be clear, there were a lot of Chevrolets (including many in the club) at the show that I would consider better than ours.  I'm just stoked that it was worthy of consideration and it was a thrill to share that moment with my twin brother who built the car.

Again, forgive me for bragging!

Congrats to you AND your brother, for a superb achievement.

There was even a team chevelle member from Wisconsin that was saying your convert was his favorite at the entire show.

Copied and pasted from Team Chevelle Car Craft post.

My favorite car from that entire show belonged to a Northstar member, I think his name may have been Dan Goble? Not 100% sure on that, gorgeous malibu convertible withair ride on it, I couldnt stop looking at it and wishing it were mine. Of all the gorgeous high end rides there, the basic small block powered Malibu convertible was the one for me, I love that car.
