I went to the MSMA meeting yesterday at Shepvette and ran into an MSMA/MSRA member who came to the meeting to find a NSCC member and get some information about our club.  He is from Ramsey and has a familiar story.  He came home from Viet Nam and purchased a '67 Malibu and still has it today.  He said he had the deealership send him information while in Viet Nam and passed the time putting together his dream car.  Several years ago he contacted the dealership and was able to get all of the original paperwork concerning his purchase.  He, of course, was invited and hopefully will join us at our next meeting at Corvette Specialties.

Sound like he is in my age catagory. Wonder where he bought the 67. Maybe it was a L79, kind of rare.

 I thought the L79 was discontinued after mid-year '66 ??

Hope to see him there.

Discontinued for the entire 66 model year, yes.  Then reinstated in the 67 model year according to my research.

Maybe Chris will build the 1st one?

L79 was available in '68 too, although they were only rated 325hp.

The thought has crossed my mind to build a fake L79. But I already have all the pieces for my 302 build.

They all look alike when done, so put an L79 sticker on the air cleaner...thumbsup

He bought the car at the Chevy dealer in St. Bonifacious and has a 327 and I believe a 4 speed in it.

It'd be cool to have another '67 in the club...even if it is short a couple doors.

I won't tell you how old he is but he was born between 1943 and 1945.

I think I might have him by a year. He could have grown up in the same area I did. St Boni is only about 25 Miles from Buffalo where I bought my 66 new.
