FALL PRE-CRUISE

jon3.jpgIt was a great day for a pre-fall-cruise, little wet at first but the weather improved and the camaraderie was excellent. Good roads, cars ran great, lot of thumbs up. Angie and I discussed the fact that thirty years ago we where cruising around in the same El Camino.

Still trying to understand how Mitch spun his tires at 50 MPH when he passed the mini-van. I did notice that when I passed the van Jon seemed to be drafting me, we where trying to make some room for the others I think, it seemed Tom could not get around the mini-van.  Mitch I really want to know how you did that.

I think we learned what went well and where we can improve some things, looks like the fall cruise should be great.

Great turn out, eight very nice cars. Professional pix to come I am sure.

Answer up folks, I got 15.5799 MPH.

We had a great time as well. Looking forward to the next one. With our long drive to the starting point, we put on nearly 300 miles for the day. I checked my mileage and I got 15.857 MPG.

Sheryl & I had to cut out at the mid-point (Wabasha) and head back home, but as stated a great run.

We even gave the Wabasha Campground a free parade of American Muscle thanks to my GPS laughing doh.

But hey, we drove in the rain, AND on a gravel road - so ppppttthhhht to anyone who says the cars are a bunch of trailer-queens!

23 MPG thumbsup

I still feel the rumbling in my head...like when you get off a boat and still feel the side to side...great time today. This is what it's all about. Good friends, fast cars.....

12 Hours later from the start of the day... and just put the Chevelle away for the night.  Haven't filled up yet after the cruise, so I don't know the mileage and don't really care as all the fun Tina and I had today is worth getting big block mileage!

That '10 %' rain just wouldn't leave us alone, but it turned out to be a nice afternoon.  As Kevin said, everyone ran great with no mishaps which is a good day in my book.

Great turnout and thanks to everyone that made it.  Another life moment thanks to a common interest with a bunch of good people.

Great day and good friends. Sure am glad there were no mechanical issues for anyone. I guess I need a fourth gear, I only got 12.2 mpg.

I had a good time as well, especially all the thumbs up in the campground...nana

I really need to get the hood on so it looks "normal" in the group shots.
