Chad and Shawna, those turned out AWESOME!!!  notworthy

Thanks for taking the pics.  Glad the rain held off as the overcast lighting worked out great.  Can't wait to get my hand on the pics so that I can send some to Bryan for the calendar.  We need to get yours in the calendar too!  We can't ever have enough '72's!  biggrin.gif

I agree!

Good to hear from you Loren.  Have you been travelling?  I was just thinking today you hadn't been on the forum mutch lately.  But then it's been pretty quiet overall...

Yes, was traveling all week. Caught a show last Saturday and Sunday last weekend (Orock and Elk River). Went to a show in Ham Lake today. Only traveling 2 days over next 2 weeks, hoping to get some more cruising in, loving these cooler evenings.

Those look sweet.

One note for the calendar. The best pictures are ones that would not have frames and the smoked edges around the pictures. Otherwise, every car in the calendar would have to have those on them too to keep with the theme. The black frame makes the photo of the car smaller too. Otherwise, Shawna would have to do pictures of all the cars for the calendar. Which means a big hassle for one person to handle.

I like the smoked border. If some of us also do pictures for the calendar. Is it a lot of work to email her photos and she could ad the smoke effect?

Photos like these 2 would be perfect for the calendar.

I am game for editing everyone's pics if that is what they want so the calendar is uniform. I would just need the pics emailed to me. Once done, I can put them on a disc or email them back to whoever needs them for the calendar.

Great pics start out with a great pic like Shawna has done with the background, angle and lighting. These are great pics made even better with the effects, I like it! What software are you using?

Chad, so it's possible to take a photo of a hardtop and change it to a vinyl top?  Reason I ask, is my car was originally a beige vinyl top car.  Would like to see what it would look like with a beige top.  Never been able to find a photo of a regal red car with a beige vinyl top. Would help to deceide if I would like to spend the $1000 it would take to put a vinyl top back on.

Jim, you’re in luck. Chad and Shawna know vinyl tops; they actually installed the vinyl top on their 72.

If you can send me a side view pic of the car I can see what I can do.

Thanks, here are a few photo's; but I don't think enough of the roof is visiable.  I will take some more photos's when I get the car back together as I have the starter out and plan to put it back in tomorrow.

Do you install vinyl tops?  Would be interested in talking to you about installation or installation tips.

Pretty sure SMS are the only ones that have the correct beige vinyl for the top for 66.

Jim:  Didn't spend much time on this, but it might give you the basic gist.  If the color is off let me know and I can readjust.  ShawnaJimsChevelle.jpg

We have only installed the vinyl top on Chad's car.  It went pretty smoothly and wasn't hard to do.  We did it ourselves for under $200.00 w/ all supplies.

Thanks,  No vinyl on the A pillars and anodized alumning  molding wil make it a little different.

Did you removed the front and back glass when you did you top?

my 66 with top.jpg

Tryed my hand at some photochopping... I did a "landau" top on my '79 Malibu. The glass doesn't need to come out. The vinyl gets trimmed inside the channels. It can be a royal bytch to get the trim back on.

A Beige top on a Red car would certainly be a standout in the crowd. Jim, can you tell the holes were filled for the trim pieces for the top ?

You could paint it Beige first and see how you like it...2cents

Chad recommended going to you tube and watching a demo.  He did that before we did ours.  They walk you thru step by step.  We did remove the windows.

Yep.  We were there for the Summer Spectacular show, so we tooled around to the buildings and took the pics since it was a good opportunity.

Yes, I do get down that way occasionally. Next time I am going that way I will try to give you at least a weeks notice.
