First Fifty Show at St. Paul Fairgrounds-Sun., May 15 (Meetup?)

I'm taking the Chevelle to the show tomorrow at the St. Paul fairgrounds for most of the morning.

If anyone wants to meet up with me at 8:30 a.m., I found a Menards that is about 2.5 miles away.  Here's the address:

2005 W UNIVERSITY AVENUE, St. Paul, mn

I'm not as familiar with that area, so if someone wants to suggest a different location, let me know.

Here's the Autoswalk link to the show:

The weather looks much nicer than today.

Hope to see you there!

I'll probably go as well, but I'd like to suggest an alternate meeting spot (University is torn to shreds, and that Menards is in the THICK of it...)

There's a McDonalds just east of Snelling (about 200') on University - in the big parking lot of the strip mall. Meeting up here would minimize the travel on the war zone of University Ave.

Exiting here we'd have to go east a bit on University, then do a "U-ie" to get back to Snelling, or just cross over University, go north a bit, and cut back to Snelling on side-streets.

Sounds good.  What's the McDonald's address?  I'm GPS dependent....

We could meet there, grab a breakfast burrito or 2, and head into the fair grounds.

For what its worth. That Menards is just down the block from the now old Porkys location. Which means, construction galore from the light rail project. So, I dont know how good the roads will be there. Not only that, the weather has been poor the entire week so there will likely be some muddy areas and puddles to get your car dirty before the show.

Very true, Chris and half of University is blocked off completely.

Har Mar Mall is a half mile north of the grounds and has ample parking in the morning.

You can see the McD's from Snelling & University - it's just off the S.E. corner.

Heading out in the next 40 min. to meet John D. at McDonalds then into the fairgrounds if anyone else is interested.

The sun is out, weather looks GREAT, and it's almost as warm as the high yesterday already!

Meet up:

McDonalds

1570 University Ave. West

St. Paul

It was good as the sun was out and it was a nice morning.  The swap meet was at least as big as the Spring Fling's and I'm guessing there were 100+ cars that showed up by about 10 a.m.

John D., Gearlube, and I met up at Mickey D's beforehand and grabbed some grub and then went in.  John's Elky got lots of attention due to his smugglers box project.

We talked to a couple of potential members and I talked to the President of the GM Car Owners Assoc. club that approached us to attend the All GM Show.  I'll add a post to the events section on this.

The Chevelle ran great and I got some more miles on it during the nice drive to/from the fair grounds.
