Anyone running 15x8 wheels with 4.5" backspace on a '69?

I currently have 15x7 wheels with 275.60.15 tires on the rear.  I don't like the balloon look of the 7" wheel with the wider tire and want to go to an 8" wheel.  Anyone see any issue with the deeper backspace on a stock '69?

Now what kind of welcome home is that Kevin? Bad enough to have to come home to some white stuff! Anyway, yes I'm back, I have some catch up to do to keep up you you guys who worked on your cars all winter.

I would think 4.5 would be fine. Isn't like 5.25 max backspace on a 10" wheel ? I ran 15X8 vette wheels on my '72 Monte with 275x60's on the back. Same frame and inner wheel well...

We did get down to Corpus one day in March but only had time to see the aquarium and the U.S.S. Lex. Got to be a long day with 5 hours driving.

Welcome back Jon!

I put some 15 X 8 American Racing Hopster's on the back of one of the 72's I had, and they had 4.5" back spacing.  They fit fine with 255/60/15's.

4.5 backspace is perfect for an 8" wheel.
