If they're still thinking of having the portable dyno, I HOPE it is well removed from the show car parking and vendor row. I was at Hastings last year with a dyno in the "Club of the Night" lot and to be blunt....it sucked.  Cars constantly coming in and out of the area and so much noise most of the night, I couldn't stand to be near my car or talk to anyone.

On a better note, I will try to volunteer to work the show. I just need to make sure it doesn't interfere with other events I can't remember right now...confuse

It would be at the Far East end away from the residential area and highway if it is going to happen.

Just saw a new magazine that is here based out of Anoka.

http://www.wheelsofthunder.net/

Maybe someone could look at getting a car show on their event list. (Bryan I"m looking in your direction.)

This magazine has everything in it sleds, cars, bikes, 4wheelers if it goes fast they will show it.

We will be needing some helpers to move cars the evening before Automania. Saturday evening August 6th at 5pm we will have @ 400 vehicles to re-position and some other easy site prep things to do. Who's in?

I'm in.

Fyi-Houston, we have a conflict.  The Muscle Car Classic show is also on Sunday, Aug. 7th.  I think when ours was scheduled, the MCC show hadn't been scheduled yet.  Hopefully our members will support our show instead.  thumbsup

I brought up our show at the Camaro meeting tonight and heard the same thing. A few are already registered to the MCC but I think a few will come to ours.

Yeah, MCC wasn't scheduled. The shows are in opposite corners of the cities. I wouldn't expect ours to draw away from that, especially since ours isn't geared towards only Muscle Cars. I figured we would get mostly local area cars and northern guys. We DO need a good club showing since we're partly footing the bill and putting our name out there, it would be silly to have 4 members show up after all the work that's gone into it.

I will try to help. Have you/Larry come up with replacement tables yet ? I can still see about using the Camaro Clubs tables.

I have a table, John D has a table, and Larry has some from the shop they can use too. We will get a list together of stuff they won't be replacing or can't replace right away and post it.

Any chance they have a ZR1 that needs moving? I'd make a special trip up just for that.  I promise not to be gone for more than a couple hours...gearbanger

Another reminder for moving cars this afternoon/evening.  We need everyone's help to make this go as fast as possible!  Bring your rain gear as it looks like the TStorms may hit about that time.

AND....

SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!  ARRIVE AT FRIENDLY CHEV BETWEEN 8 AND 8:30 A.M. TO HELP SET UP FOR THE SHOW!!!

Thanks for everyone's help so far, and let's make this a great show and represent the club well!!!   Wear your club shirts/hats proudly on Sunday!  nana

I don't have a club shirt. I see secret talks have been underway lately. Will they be available at the show ??

I thought the same thing about a rain jacket.  Brad may as well come help too, as it appears inevitable....laughing

OK, if the new T-shirts are there, I'll get one in the morning so I look like part of the crew. Otherwise I have a Team Chevelle shirt.

Not sure if anyone wants me to have a club sticker on the car yet...rolleyes

Oh yeah:

car moving-There will be a brief "here's how it will go down" meeeting before we start just to make sure everyone's on the same page.

sunday am: Mike, Larry, and I have the truck FULL of stuff. We'll need a crew of 3-4 for snowfence, some to set up the club area, some to set up registration area, some to help align vendors and then parkers, 1 to put up signs for directions, etc. We will need help at the end to undo stuff too.

THANK YOU! to everyone who showed up to help move cars and set up the snow fence. With all the get'-er-done guys attacking the fence, we knocked both out in under 2 hours.

I have been very impressed with everyone stepping up to make this go smoothly, it's been a load off with all the extra hands and help for sure! It's been pretty stressful for me too, so I apologize if I snapped at anyone. This has taken up most of my spare time for the past week and other chunks for the past few months leading up to it, and I'll be glad to see it happen finally (and glad to see it go).

See you all tomorrow, let's keep it up, make a good showing, and have a great show!

From the sounds of it and the sounds of the doctors. I should be good to go tomorrow but im a bit drugged up so im not sure if ill be there at 8 am.
