I will not be running for club Prez in 2011

Unfortunately with my new job and other things I have planned for 2011, I can't commit the time I need to for the club, so I won't be running for president.

I wanted to make sure it was known, so someone can step in and continue on where we have left off, and most likely help us grow even more.

I will be more than happy to help whomever takes over, and I still plan on being active.

Bryan

Vice president will also be available as my new job will have me traveling and very busy.

Kudos to you guys, for stepping up and doing all you have done to make this a better club.

I'm sure it takes more time and sacrifice than most realize.

Please don't anyone think this is a planned mass exodus or anything. I can't speak for John or Lori and Ian, but this wasn't anything that has been the fault of the club. I also know Terry has said he would let someone else assume the treasurer position if there was interest. I would like to continue to be an officer, but at a lesser capacity (I will continue to work on our show next year with MSMA either way) but I encourage anyone who has any interest to step up and become a leader.

You guys did a great job this year. If we dont get much intrested to take on new positions, I would be willing to put my name in for the vice president position. With school coming up plus work, I wont have enough time to give to the president position. But thats if there isnt anyone expressing intrest.

I second for Chris.

I will still be in the club also, I just cannot provide the attention needed given my workload projected for next year.

I'd like to thank Bryan for stepping in over the last year and keeping the club going and growing.  It's not an easy task and is a huge commitment to the club.

Same goes for the other officers as well.

Having said that, I would like to put my name in as a candidate for the club president position.

I've been involved with NCC for the past 8 years (other than a 2 year hiatus when I moved back to Nebraska) and remember being part of a handful of folks at one of the first meetings at the original Corvette Specialties location.

I like to think that I would I bring my passion around Chevelles, as well as some organizational skills to the position as a way to repay the club for the great times I've had related to NCC.

I'd be happy to work with Chris R. as VP or anyone else that shows interest in the position in order to keep this a fun and growing club.

And finally, maybe this would keep me busy enough not to have thoughts of selling/buying any more Chevelles!  LOL biggrin

Enough of the campaigning, but hopefully there are others in the club that feel I would be worthy enough to fill this role.

Thank you,

Stan

That being said:

I nominate Stan S. for the office of President, Northstar Chevelle Club.

Second the motion?

  Let me second that!

Stan has had more chevelles than any one I know. But more than that he has the skills required to go forth with what has worked for the last year.

I would support you Stan. Yes, I could still do the newsletter, though topics and input would be greatly appreciated. Maybe Chris R and I could tag-team it. He has some good ideas and knowledge I can use and arrange into format.

BTW, almost done with November one, will be done before I leave for SEMA on Wed.

(I hope)

Stan and Chris are both great guys and genuine enthusiasts. I was bummed when I first read this thread, but now I feel a lot better. Thanks for stepping up, guys. I'll happily support both of you.

Also- thanks to those officers moving on- you've done a great job carrying the torch. Things got kinda weird there for awhile, and you guys got things back on track and moving forward. I'm sure we all appreciate that.

I don't do as much as I'd like to, due to work and family commitments, but I do appreciate the efforts of those who take on these responsibilities.

Thanks Stan and Chris for stepping up! You both have my support. I would love to be of some help, but liveing 150 miles away and getting to maybe 2 meetings a year it woud be pretty tough to be of any real help. Am looking to come to the November meeting. See you all there.

Dan

Thank you everyone who held club positions in 2010! Thanks to those of you who have remained a candidate or volunteered to be one for 2011. I appreciate your commitment and dedication!  Without people like you the club wouldn't exist.

I haven't seen an accual bid by Chris to run for the VP position but since everyone else is railroading him in with Stan, I'll endorse that action as well...wink

Here it is in case you missed it. He also spoke about it in the October meeting at Powder Coating Technologies

I would also like to thank those who have served and served us well this past year. I am very gratefull for your service and moving through a difficult time during the melt down. I also support the current nominations and made a note on my calendar to increase the chance of me making the meeting November 20.

THANK YOU!!!

My thanks go to everyone for the endorsements.  I greatly appreciate it.

Chris, I would look forward to working with you too.

I do want to say that just because Chris and I have spoken up doesn't mean that if there are other members interested in these positions, it is locked up by any means.  I would encourage anyone interested to express their willingness to fill a position.  The club is based on involvement from all members at all levels.  The meeting on Nov. 20th is everyone's opportunity to nominate and vote on the candidates and that's how it will be decided.

Thanks again.

Stan

I'm not so sure about Stan for club Pres. The way he buys and sells Chevelles, I'm afraid if he's elected he'll resign the position a week later. Then a week after that, he'll probably want it back. biggrin

JK Stan, You have my endorsement (for what it's worth).

I also give a big thumbs up for Chris. Both of these guys will make a great team to head up NCC.

Stan is right. These positions are open to anyone that has any intrest regardless what this post shows. Besides, we are also going to need people to step up for event coordinator positions and the secritary position as well.

For those of us who aren't able to be active enough to run for a position, just seeing the 2 top spots having interested parties means we can breath a sigh of relief that there will be leadership in the future.

I think the positions should  be for 2 years and the pres has to keep the same car for the entire time.....biggrin
