Possible Dyno on Friday
Permalink

Well if everything goes to plan I will be heading to the dyno on Friday. Dyno guy is looking at needing the day to tune the EFI so he is not booking anything for the afternoon. This is going to be a mild 383 stroker running on pump gas with a Holley Stealth Ram, Dart Pro1 Aluminum heads, 1.6 Scorpion Roller rockers, Eagle crank and rods, Moroso 6qt pan and pickup, MSD 6AL. I could have stepped on it more in the cam area according to Gary Heddon, but the wife is going to drive it.
Target number was 450hp 450tq and it should be made without having to spin it to high.

I picked up the entire unit used a year ago with Holley controller and software. Doug F. from Holley said if I need a custom map he will get one for me. They have a base 383 map that should be close to start and getting the fine tune done just takes a long time. Will still need further fine tune after it is in the car and driving down the road.

Well the best laid plans went sour in just a few days. By the time I pay the remainding balance on the engine and rent the slit seeder for the yard I'm BROKE! So I'll need to wait to get the engine on the dyno maybe another month or so to build up the account.
Time and money on cars never works to my advantage.

Grass is over-rated... Goes brown, needs cutting, it's one of those things where the whole thing needs to look great, or the rest is ugly...

Get your engine tuned and skip the grass 'till next spring. In a few weeks you won't even see it 'cause of the leaves!

I have 200# of seed to go down and it was supposed to be done earlier this summer. If I get it down now in spring my work will be reduced and wife will be happier. Well for a short time she will be happier, never lasts all that long with women.

Needed to order pushrods for this thing as nobody seems to happen to have +.200 pushrods on hand for this set up. Cam is actually a really mild a split duration 234-244 to give a good idle and vacuum for the EFI system. Did swing by today pay on the bill and the oil pan is a cool wide bottom extra 1qt trap doors for going around corners fast and that kind of stuff.
Have a kidney up for sale on ebay next to further finance this project.
