Farmington Dew Days Cruise-Friday, June 14, 2019

Tina and I are planning on going on the cruise this Friday.  I went last year and took my daughter, and it's always fun to drive through downtown Farmington and get oogled by everyone on both sides of the street then out to the countryside for a nice cruise.

We're leaving the northland metro around 5ish and heading south if anyone wants to meet up.

I just registered, but then realized they follow the parade route, I assume at low speed. I registered the Impala, but it doesn't like idling along with the 4 blade fan. I may well bring the coupe with the electric fan for this.

The cruise is very slow at the beginning going through Farmington downtown, but then it opens up and you'll get airflow.

This was kinda fun, police had traffic stopped at major intersections and people in their front yards with signs to "burn em" and light em up. One little boy yelled " do a wheelie !!" and his family got a good laugh out of that. There were quite a few "takers" for the burn out requests.

Other than the showers and a few wet roads, we had a good time as well.  The only complaint was us being about 2 cars behind a diesel truck that had to stop and do every burnout and was 'rolling coal' that blew tons of diesel smoke right back into us and the cars behind him.  Not fun with all the windows open on our car.  angry

Mitch your 409 fender badge pic made it on the Dew Days FB page if you happened to follow it.

I'll have to go to their page. The guy that parked me took it and then asked if I really had a 409 ? He said he'd never seen one, so I opened the hood for him...thumbsup

That sucks about the diesel, I've come to despise those coal burners.

I had a guy in a Corvette in front of me that kept stopping to throw candy to the kids along the route. We got WAY behind a few times and I finally went around him. If people want to do that, great, but be at the back of the line, so they aren't holding up a couple dozen others.
