If I remember right and THAT is a stretch, you need to remove the lock tumbler first and then have a hexagon, INTERNAL socket to fit the nut on the barrel threads. You can use an Allen wrench, if you have one big enough. I believe I used a 1" long bolt with 2 nuts, locked together, to remove mine. Don't remember if the bolt head size is 1/2" or 7/16ths...I'm leaning towards the later.
Well, drrrr, you asked how to remove the lock... I "think" you need to insert the key with the door open and turn it counter clockwise for a tab to appear in a window right by the door. Pushing that down with a small screw driver, should let the lock come out then, or you need to turn a little more and then it will come out ?

Thanks Mitch. It doesn't seem to work for me. I have key, open door, locked cylinder by hand, inserted key, turned counterclockwise (don't know how many degrees) then inserted small coat hanger end into the slot, coat hanger didn't seem to move anything, so cylinder wouldn't come out. Will try again today, maybe with a better attitude it will work.
