Auto City Classics Aluminum Radiator Install-71 Malibu

I decided to go with the ACC aluminum (or aluminium as they say in Europe lol) radiator drop in replacement since the car was starting to temp climb above 220 when I had the AC on and was stuck in traffic.

The radiator in the car looked like a stock replacement 3 core and was pretty gunky inside even though I tried to flush it with the vinegar and water trick.

Denny at ACC hooked me up, and still gives club members a 10% discount, so that saved about $20.

The packaging and workmanship was very good, and I'm guessing made in China but looked like they had automated welding as the tank beads were like dimes.

The install was pretty straightforward, and other than a leaky trans line fitting that needed a little tightening, and the bottom of the fan shroud doesn't fall into the clips at the bottom since the aluminum rad bottom is slightly wider, but the discreet use of a zip tie took care of that.  Cheesy, but it worked.

At idle, the temp is locked in at 185 (sensor is in the head), which is the temp of the thermostat that I installed.  On the road it didn't budge a bit either.

When I ran the AC, the temp did climb to 200 degrees while running it with the hood closed inside the garage since it's not that hot outside today, and didn't seem to want to go any higher than that.

I'll get some miles on it, but it seems like it will be a good improvement for less than $200.  I'd recommend it to others.  thumbsup

I have used their radiators in a few cars, and always been happy with the radiators and the people at ACC.
