In the process of replacing my intake manifold and valve covers tonight, I discovered that on this mystery motor I think there are '69 Camel Hump heads? 

Casting number is 3927186

Casting date is E 16 9 (May 16, 1969?)

Someone has also been into them as they have guide plates and locking nuts, and the springs look beefier than stock and have an 'H' stamped in the top of them.

According to Mortec.com, these are '69-70 64 cc 302/350 heads.  Sound right?

The picture shows the double hump on the passenger side casting, as I can't see the drivers side since it is under the AC compressor bracket.

I was told this was a crate 350 with 4 bolt mains, but there's a VIN number stamped on it, but I haven't looked yet to see if it matches the car.  The good news is everything looks nice and clean inside the valley.  The motor pulls good from 1500 on up, but not a ton of torque, or it could also be the stall convertor is about 3 grand as when I try to do a burnout, it bogs down and won't spin the tire until the rpm gets that high.  Someone has played with the trans too as it has a shift kit, so I suspect the convertor is too high.  I think it has 3.08 gears from what I can calculate based on rpm and tire size on the highway.

Anyway, do you think they are double hump heads?

Yep those are late camel hump heads. Could be 1.94 or 2.02 heads but no way to tell without pulling them. It is nice they have screw in studs, good start for upgrades.

Converter sounds way to big for the rest of the set up based on what you are saying.

Guess that means the motor needs more power to match it. stirpot

I still have thoughts of having a 383 built, and this motor might be a good start... cuckoo

Or, I could throw a 2004R behind it and sell the TH350.  Been there done that before, right?  beers

An overdrive tranny and a set of 3.42ish gears can make a mild motor feel a lot stronger.
