Car Club of the Night at Hastings 2016
Permalink

I got a call from Doug, one of the organizers of the Hasting Cruise Night. He wanted to know if we would like to be a car club of the night again this year. For those that did not participate last year, for manning the gate at the end of main street to keep non qualified cars out, they provide us with a spot for all of the club cars to park together. Last year everyone had a great time and it was a fun club function. We could certainly make it a meeting day. They have penciled us in for August 6th. (8/20 is also open if we prefer) I know this is a long way out but we need to make a commitment one way or the other. Please check your calendars and post up your thoughts.

Seeing as we usually try for meetings around the 3rd weekend of the month, the 20th would be my preference

There was a paragraph in the LineChaser regarding the Hasting's Cruise that they thought about cancelling it for the season due to road construction and the closing of a parking lot where a building is being erected.  They're still doing it but are going to try and be much stricter on the parking prior to the event and who gets in during due to the the space and construction issues.

I will be at Powercruise in Brainerd on the 6th. I am available on the 20th if that pans out.

It's probably better to get a date on the books now and plan for it.

Thanks for running with this Jon.

Doug did say the season would be shorter due to some construction issues but they were trying to do as many nights as possible.

I will call tomorrow and try and lock in the 20th.

I talked to the Hastings folks today and August 20th was grabbed by another club. The only other date is September 3rd which is Labor
Day weekend which for a lot of folks is already a commitment. Options are 8/6 which is a conflict with the Power Cruise, 9/3 which is Labor Day weekend or pass until next year, but I do need to let them an answer. Thoughts?

I told the Hastings folks we would pass for this year but asked them to hold the third weekend in August for us next year.

With that said, why don't we pencil in August 20th for a NSSC Hasting night? Put it on your calendars now so it is saved. If a meeting is needed we can do it there.

Thanks again for looking into that Jon.

Not a bad idea to get together on the 20th and take a ride down there.
