The Mid-America Chevelle Club went for a cruise yesterday to Ft. Scott, KS and I rode shotgun with one of the members in a cool '72 wagon.  It was 72 degrees and sunny and a great day for a drive.  Interesting history about the fort during the Mexican War support the troops from there were involved in and the 'Bleeding Kansas' days during the Civil War era...

The 'wagon' (It had been SSized by the previous owner other than the guy I rode with had installed EZ EFI on the stocker 350 in it.  Ran like a top and actually handled/rode really well even with the low profile tires.  Lots of attention at the gas station, and the owner told me the same thing happens at car shows.  Just not that many wagons around.  Other than new paint for the hood and tops of the front fenders, it's original paint!)

Filling up for the cruise and time for the old guy bathroom break before hitting the road, me included with too much Mountain Dew in my system.  laughing

Bug splattered view (That Elky is actually a Candian GMC Sprint---The owner has another stock one too):

You ammunition guys will appreciate this little building that housed the gun powder.  It had 2.5' thick brick walls around the perimeter, but the top was thin so that if it blew up it would go up and not out.  They used copper nails inside for the wood part so that there wouldn't be any spark hazards.

The long building on the left is the stable where the Dragoon Division (Horse soldiers and infantry men) horses were kept.  The Dragoon's made $8 a month, and the foot soldiers made $7 per month!

Pretty cool history, and a few of the Kansas folks had lived near it all their lives, and never gone to see it before.

The cruise made me even more anxious to get the vert down here and join in!  That's happening next weekend!  nana

Good to know you've already established yourself and found a local support group.

Didn't really know anyone.  I was at their show in 2006, so they've had a lot of change in officers, members, etc.  A couple of them know Derek and Dan W. from when they came down to their show.

Make sure you leave the guy negative feedback. Its not much but a lot of people do pay attention to that stuff. I know I do every single time I buy something.

Chris-I think this was meant for Jim L.'s post on the ebay seller of the rear control arms.
