Looks like an interesting project.  Anyone know the owner?  What would be a good ballpark price?  I am thinking $12K plus Motor and trans to finish.

Looks pretty ruff Jim, I think you'ed go through 12K very quickly. I'd think it might be better suited for a guy like Mitch with the skill sets to do the cut and paste stuff.

Mitch, did you bid on this car and run the price up?

What do you guys think is the real value of a 66 in that condition?

If restored correctly, I would say 25K.  You have probably got 10K for finishing the body work and paint.  Probably another 2K in suspension and brakes if you do the work.  1.5K for a good muncie and shifter.  Then 4K for engine and misc.  Then you have to do the interior, 3K. if you do most of the work.  What does that total to, about 2K if you throw in 1K for misc.  So I would say $2500 to $3000.

Those new redline cost $1000, ask me how I know.

I just saw this post. Chris, what did he have it priced at on craigslist ?

Seems reasonably solid for a MN car and actually not a bad starting point. Depends on how well the floor pans were installed and IF the rest of the replaced body parts are actually rust free. The trunk floor needs attention but maybe not a complete replacement. The frame would need a good inspection but if it is on that hoist, a person could get a good look at the underside...thumbsup

To keep the cost within reason, it would need to be an owner restoration to the paint stage. The windshield/dash and rear window channels could be the difficult repairs. For the quarters, I would buy AMD skins and use what I needed, rather than patch in 2 or 3 pieces for the same cost.

With all that said, I wouldn't pay much over 3k and with his premature investment in tires, I doubt it could be bought at that price.

The 67 post I sold was in better shape than that with exception of needing a floor, I didn't get close to What they are asking. I also pulled a 66 post out of the woods and parted out that was in better shape. The rust around the windows is a major task.  As someone said 2500 max

Ah yes springtime, when a young man's thoughts turn to love and an old car guy's thoughts turn to outrageous prices!
