LS6 Convertible In Minnesota?

Sure looks like the one from the guy in Hudson that parked with us at CC a few years ago, but it says it was a 2014 restoration, so maybe not it.

Nicely done, other than 2 things that I saw; 1.) The 2 lower small circles on the dash above the steering column shouldn't be chromed (pretty sure? there are some aftermarket dashes that have that incorrectly), and 2.) the frame looks over restored with a pristine flat surface, while it looks nice... sure didn't come from the factory that way if that was his approach.

IMO he's at pre-recession pricing, and $25K high or so.

None of those four small indicator lamp bezels should be chromed. I've never seen a dash with chrome that bright either. And 3 miles on the odo?

There was a seller from Marshall a few years back that was peddling another 70 that he claimed was a true SS 454 car on both Craigslist and Ebay, I cant remember if it was an LS5 or LS6. Someone posted the car on TC and the guys and experts on 70 454 cars were able to pick that particular car apart and nearly prove it was a fake car being passed off as as real. Lots of incorrect details everywhere an engine stampings that were questionable. I don't recall that sellers Ebay name though.

The tach looks original, and does not have the extra screws that the aftermarket tachs have... Lots of bezels got butchered for Pioneer Super Tuners so I would say the aftermarket bezel isn't as much an indication of a clone as aftermarket gauges would be.

For the record, I'm not suggesting the car is a clone.

I see a lot of restored cars with repop dash housings that have the bright rings around the 4 indicator lamps which everyone should know by now is incorrect. There are far more important things that need to be correct to command that kind of money. Still, I don't understand why you would spend the time and money restoring a LS-6 convertible and get something that simple and visible wrong.

Anyways, the intent of this thread wasn't to nit-pick the car. I was just curious if anyone knew anything about it. Neat to see such a rare car here in MN. They only made 18 of them.

First it’s a very nice car and could park in my garage any day, I love the stance and color combo. A lot of dashes did get hacked up for radio and gauge upgrades however, I think the point here is attention to detail on a high dollar nut and bolt restoration.

I'm surprised this car has not made it's way to TC's what it worth section yet; there seems to be a new one popping up every two weeks there.

Rick Nelson is a former NCC member back when the club first formed. He used to live in the cities but now has a high-end restoration shop in IL... I see him once a year at MCACN.

Yup. Rick was one of our original members. He was an attendee at Deans for our first introduction.
