STREET MACHINE NATIONALS....I don't get it

It seems like they just renamed Car Craft.  I got their email.  They are using the same emails and pics from prior years of CAR CRAFT?  Is it?  or isn't it just the same thing?  Looks like nothing really changes, which I am happy about...

A competing publishing company bought the Events Company that put on the show here. They can't give money to a competitor, so they had to move the 'official' event somewhere else.

In a similar vein, the Events Company had already committed to the state fairgrounds here, so they also have to follow through and have an event here.

It's a convoluted deal but that's what went down.

The fact both events will happen on the same weekend is just plain competition.

It's an interesting situation, and if they can coordinate the dates a little better in the future, both could happen successfully.

Car Craft is using pics from last years event HERE for their new location, since they obviously don't have any pics from that site.

Seems like blasphemy to me, but I guess they own the pics and can do what they want with them.

Next year, they should have pics form this year for their promotions.

I got the email today too.  I see Hotchkis is the sponsor for the autocross saying it is larger and faster than ever before. It will be interesting to see how they set it up.

My concern is will the go back to only letting people through at 8:00am so we have all the over heaters. They should open the place up at 5:00 am and let us trickle in

It could be done. BTTF has a campground on-site. I think it comes down to cost. CC has never rented the whole fairgrounds to allow for camping. MSRA does and it appears to be working for them. MSRA also opens the gates at 6 am to get the early arrivals in. Maybe this is a chance to get some changes made.dunno

I have heard from people that have camped at BTTF before and they say its quite the camaraderie after hours. Lots of guys hanging out after a long hot day at the show and what not just talking shop. Its not quite like after hours at Iola (ive heard some crazy stories there as well.) It sounds more like what we have had during the dawn patrol hours prior to CC. My only concern is showers, there is no way in h ell I could go to bed without a shower after being out at a car show all day and soaking in my own sweat. My understanding is the fairgrounds does have showers for the campers to use though.
