Remember a few years back, I included some of GM's "exercises in engineering"? Most of those never made it past the afterglow. They were more or less brainstorms and challenges to see if it could be done. Those vehicles produced some cool things like an LT4 engine S-10 extended cab 2x4 pickup which was on a lowered chassis. Maybe not our cup of tea, but it was back before the S-10 V8 conversion craze had caught on and looked factory (because it technically was, using factory parts).
The Vipers were not cars, but functional platforms designed to help educate students. Almost like concept cars, they weren't built to be licensed or even titled. The public wasn't even aware that these existed, and now they're outraged that they're being destroyed. Cool to have? yea, but everyone claiming how much they would be worth are also not the ones who would ever pony up the money to actually buy it. I agree with Tony, part them out.
