 be able to sleep tonight.  First one is close to home with MN plates. Drive safely boys and girls. I wonder if some of these type of crashes are the result of driving new cars with all the tricks then climbing into the old school iron and just pushing it to where it should not go.

I think it's just idiot drivers, alcohol, and poor mechanical skills with the fires.

The first pic of the orange judge happened on Snelling Ave outside the Fairgrounds in '09. He was passing a line of cars and was about to hit an oncoming car so he swerved to the left and found a utility pole at about 70 mph. Word at the time was it was a fresh nut-and-bolt restoration too.

That car is now for sale as a "salvage" or parts car...rolleyes

Seems like when you talk to someone that was in high school in the late 60's/early 70's, the demise of fast cars back then were mostly because people lost control then went into a ditch and wrapped it around either a tree or light pole that jumped out in front of them...  and yes recreational drugs or alcohol are usually mentioned.

Hopefully none of us ever make that hit parade of crashed collector cars!

 A guy I went to school with got a spankin' new '70 Super Bee 440 six pack as an early graduation present.

It was in the scrap yard when we got our diplomas...clonk

Another guy that was one year ahead of me totaled his new '69 Boss 302 on his graduation night.

I was in a '66 VW bug that got totaled on our graduation night too, but that isn't quite the same...laughing

Guy over here in the Santiago Garage has a nice Torino he owned since he was young. For some unknown reason he upgraded the brakes on the car during the rebuild because he he muscle car brakes suck! Even some of the cars with good brakes in that video had issues though.

Looks like he put on one heck of a show start to finish.  It also looks like the body separated form the frame forward of the axle so he may have missed a couple of the nuts and bolts on the resto.  There's a time and place for the showing off stuff, normally in large open spaces. I don't like doing cruises with people I don't know because you never know when the guy just in front or behind you is going to do something stupid.

Wow. I thought the best way to show off with an old car was to go slow enough for everyone to see you going by instead of whizing by at speed in a flash. You want to show off in a classic car, you roll by or idle past so people can check you out. Not scream past like Speedy Gonzales.
