Received the flyer for the Spring Extravaganza at the St. Paul Fairgrounds yesterday, so I guess that makes it official Spring is really coming?  The forecast for 3-5" tomorrow during the commute doesn't seem like it!  banghead

That day is REALLY busy. The Hugo swap meet is the same day, poor planning on someone's part, and I have to be at my Brothers house by 4 pm for a family event...banghead

Mailed in my registration today to enter the Top 21 class, so hopefully I won't need a parka and boots like a couple of years ago, and the way this winter has gone, it's possible.  rant2

 

And who knows... maybe I'll find some rusty gold at the swap meet.

Depends on the weather. If it is going to be dry, I may well show up for the swap meet. If my '69 GMC doesn't sell by then, I will drag that along. Forecast is for cold overnight ~°38~ so it will be chilly in the morning.

I'm not going to make any cursing weather predictions... but it sounds like it will be like last Sat. at the meeting but without the wind.

 Thanks, Bryan, now I don't feel bad for abandoning Hugo. I usually look forward to that as the first swap of the outdoor season.

I didnt see anyone there today but I did see Stans car in the show but didnt see him anywhere. Came back around sometime later and he was already gone. Who all else went and did you get anything in the swap meet? I actually didnt buy anything this time around.

I didn't get there until about 8:30 or so.  I did walk the swap meet from 9 to 10, and ran into Bruce L., but nobody else.  Seemed like there were a lot of people at the swap meet, and the car corral was very full.  I'm guessing 25 cars in there at one point.  A survivor '68 RS Camaro vert sold in 20 min. for $25K.  It was retail red, and a true RS with a 327 and a power glide.  Seemed like a really good buy for that one.

Not much Chevelle stuff at the meet, but I cruised it pretty fast so might have missed a few things.  My only shopping list item was a 1 1/4" front sway bar since I only have the 15/16 one on there now, and that's the last piece to finish the suspension.  But very little A body suspension stuff around at the meet.

The car show was pretty good, with lots of street rods and a few muscle cars thrown in.  I stuck it out until 12:30 p.m., then was tired of sitting in the cold, even with the sun out, so I drove home. 

My car show tolerance is lower than it used to be, and I'd rather be driving the car than sitting around looking at them.  I have a feeling I'm not going to do as many shows this year, and will probably find other reasons to drive the car like a destination for lunch, or a scenic cruise.

I was in the swap area from 7-11:30 and then left to deliver the '69 GMC I sold.

Sold a few other items too. Less parts clutter and more cha-ching in the pocket.

I did see Bruce L. and Brad W. while I was standing there. Never did get out of the swap meet area.

 That Camaro wasn't a true survivor. I looked at that a month ago and it is an older restoration that showed well but had a fair amount of patches under the paint. It also didn't have the original engine. She did well to get 25k for it.

I also happened to notice yesterday that KQRS built a small building right on the corner we use for Car Craft as well.

A friend was there, said it was cold, but better than raining. Decent turnout.

June's All GM show should be better if the weather holds up.

 I missed that.  Probably walked right by it too.  I'm guessing that will change our parking arrangement for CC?  Maybe need to slide further to the North or the West to the corner?  dunno

Wow, from that small move several years ago, we have now made the Dyno move and KQRS to build a building since we draw so many people to us!

I would think we want to keep the same space, there will just be less grass space.

I thought since there isn't any sidewalk on the east side, that they might block part of that off for some reason.  Maybe it will be fine, but JD and Craig might want to check it out before reserving the spots on July 17th.

 I may be there for the GM show but for certain BTTF, UNLESS it rains buckets. I can take a look too.

KQ sitting behind the cars will be REALLY LOUD !!!

As for the Red '68 Camaro, the guy who bought it claims to be a classic car appraiser. Either he didn't look as closely as I did, or he thinks he can get more on a flip...headscratch

 Its right on our corner. Building sits between the garden hose faucet and the sidewalk. Its about 10-15 feet wide by about 20-30ft long. Plus a small concrete patio in front of it. So the street we park on is the back of the building. and the front would face to the west. I would have taken a picture but I don't have a smart phone. I'm not sure what to feel about it but its definitely an obstruction. The other concern would be if KQ decides to open it during the car craft weekend and we are parked right there, im not sure if that could be good or a bad thing.

Figure they won't be blasting the speakers to the 1/2 street we are on and then onto Snelling and the neighborhood. I would think IF they were open for Car Craft, they would play with speakers facing the main routes.

We could sneak farther north, but too far and we're back with the dyno noise as well. It's going to be hard to find a quiet area as it is.
