How tight is the Hayden fan clutch. I would be interested in discussing that and a fan spacer at the brunch in a few weekends.

Hey Chris I only used the fan cult for a couple of months while my original Eaton fan clutch was being rebuilt by a guy in FL.  The 66 BBC fan clutch had a mounting distance of 1.5"  ( of course this is with an original radiator and fan shroud and fan  so that the blades will sit the correct distance into the shroud.   This Hayden has a mounting distance of 1.4"  If you look in the Hayden catalog, I think they had the wrong clutch recommended , I believe the mounting distance they say to use is 1.75" (Original SBC mounting distance was 1.75" in a chevelle) which is the small block  fan clutch.  The model # is  2711.  The model Hayden lists is 2710

Any specific distance or part # that you are looking for a fan spacer?  I think I have two or 3 different distances.  As far as I know you do not use a spacer with a fan clutch.
