Gauges do not always work

Neighbor has an 80s Chevy truck I did a bunch of work on earlier this year. Truck has not started for the past three weeks so I had to check it to see what was wrong since I worked on it last. Had spark and when hit with Ether fires up so it was a fuel issue, gauge shows a half tank so it must have gas right? Dump a gallon of fresh gas in it and fires up and runs fine.doh NO I do not replace gauges in gas tanks somebody else needs to do that.

Pulling the bed off is sometimes easier then dropping the tank. In the case of a truck that old. You would probably never get the bolts that mount the bed to the frame loose.
