Ok not so much a sighting as I finally stopped at a house around the corner that I knew had a 66 chevelle in the garage. Was out driving the 55 and saw that his garage was open so I stopped in to talk cars. It is a 138 car with a 454 and th400 in it. Red with black vinyl top and white interior. Nice looking car was aparently his sons who died (did not ask to many details on that) and now it is his. So than he brings us into the shed and he has a 66 elcamino hiding as a someday project. is a small block car was originally a 4 speed but say has an auto in it right now. Sounded like he wants to convert it back to a 4 speed. Nice guy will have to stop in and bug him again later.

I think there are more old cars tucked away in garages than we realize. Speaking of old muscle cars tucked away in garages, were you able to run the GTO engine this weekend?

So how is the 55 running?

Had some carb problems with the GTO. I had rebuilt the carb but did not replace the float and it bit me in the butt. Had to pull the top off and install a new float and than it ran like a top. Had a small coolant leak that was also an easy fix. But no oil leaks so that was a plus. Dana was very happy with how it all went.

55 is running great. Still working out a few bugs but I would feel safe to drive it a longer distance now. The owner of it stopped by today and I took him for a ride. He is getting excited about taking it out to the fifties next month.

I've seen that car there too once or twice when driving by.  Looked like a nice car.  Cool to hear more about it.

or trading me.............. I'd trade even up, just saying.

You have the best luck just tooling around and finding **** in people's garages, AND actually having a conversation with them. That's cool.

Last summer I saw a Red '66 in a garage a couple blocks away. I meant to stop in but never took the time. Then it disappeared around fall. I drove by last Friday and there was a '70 in the garage and a '69 in the driveway. I HAD to stop this time. The '70 is a small block with SS emblems. The '69 appears to be a real SS car with a 396, with factory gauge package and 4 speed. Turns out he has another garage behind the house that you can't really see from the road and the Red '66 is in there. Supposed to be an original 327 car with the original engine. I didn't have any club cards with me but I have one on my desk right now that I will drop off soon. He seemed interested in checking out the club and hanging with Chevelle guys...nana
