Gas prices in MN... Around $4.10 a gallon.

Listened to a co-worker bytch about the price of gas during morning break on Friday. "G-D gas is $4.09 a gallon this, I won't pay that, gonna F-up my weekend, etc..."

The whole time he's sipping on his ABSOLUTELY GOTTA HAVE EVERY MORNING "Starbucks Whappa Frappa Double-shot MochaFrocha Grande whatever the F coffee"...Which (doing simple math/multiplication) costs nearly $64 a gallon!!!

Think about it!
Don't friggin bitch about paying $4 a gallon for gasoline when you willingly lay out $64 a GALLON for a 12 oz. cup of hot water poured over mashed up beans!!
(.60 a bucket gas station coffee works just fine)

When the reason we are paying $4.10 a gallon is pure greed because "supply is low", it's the principle of not buying anymore than absolutely necessary. Other areas of the country don't have the supply problem and the price is lower. I'm starting to suspect the refineries in the Midwest are controlled by our DFL legislature...angry

I tried a Starbucks once and don't care for it, let alone be willing to pay $4-5 for it. You're right about the insanity of complaining in that scenario.

The only thing that ticks me off is Minnesota last week was the highest listed gas price in the country and only Hawaii was higher then us. Which having been to Hawaii not much over a year ago now, thier price is always outrageous. For us to be the highest in continental US, above CA even, kind of irks me a little bit. Im not a coffee drinker though so I dont really know the going rate of a cup at a high end coffee shop.

I did see $3.99 a gallon in the southern metro on I35 coming home last night.  But... paid $3.79 a gallon for 87 octane in Nebraska.  The 89 octane ethanol crap was selling for $3.69 a gallon in Nebraska, but I won't run that junk unless it's all that's available. 

Frustrating how it can jump fifty cents in one day, and take weeks/months to get back to where it started.  Oh well, I guess we could live in Europe and pay 2-3X what we pay here!  hyper

I paid $3.99 yesterday morning in Coon Rapids in a mall area. If you look back, every spring the prices jump about $0.25-$0.40 in May because the refineries close and switch over to summer blend gas. They actually do somewhat limit the fuel amount they deliver to the gas stations. I see all the invoices for fuel that we havedelivered to our dealership and we luckily filled up right bedore the incrase. We don't o thrugh it as fast as a station, and I di te math on Sat when I was there, we should ride it out pretty well and not see a price increase when we refill again. BTW, if you have your vehicle repaired at my dealership and we need to add some fuel back, you will most likely pa less than at a gas station ($3.71 right now). No, we will not sell it retail, I can't even fill my own up.

I usually get coffee at less than a dollar with tax included.  I feel a little guilty when just stopping to use the mens room at a gas station.

Yes the legislature does control the cost by the laws that they enact.  Just look at all the market speculation on wall street, who governs wall street?  And who enacts all the laws governing the oil industry?

Check out who get what and how much from BP, Shell, and the rest.  Republican legislators are just as bad as the Democrats.

 

Having been to Europe a few times over the last year makes me thing maybe we don't have it so bad.
