Bill, I know they are there until at least 6 p.m. as I've gotten there around 5 the last couple of years, and the trailer is still open for registration.

See you and your Chevelle Friday!  beers

I don't think I'll make the Dawn Patrol, but I plan on being there between 7-8 Saturday morning.

Dawn Patrol usually convenes about 2:30-3am on Como Ave while waiting to get in. It's a completely different atmosphere and once inside the gates (but before inside the actual show area), it's a mini car show in itself.

I plan on being there Friday, but the weather will dictate.

Funny story, 2 years ago ChrisR and I did the dawn Patrol on Friday AM. Spent a long day there, I think he was on back pain meds too. We got home in the evening, planned on meeting up to ride in together again the next morning...... I get a call about 8:30 from ChrisR saying he fell asleep, profusely apologizing for being late and not hearing the alarm. Funny thing was it was 8:30pm that same night. He thought he slept the whole night, but it was just a quick nap. Lack of sleep does that to you.

Found this in the FAQ regarding picking up credentials (Only Drivers License needed, not proof of insurance):

PARTICIPANT CREDENTIAL PICKUP:

Credentials can only be picked up by the registered participant, at the Registration Trailer starting Thursday, July 18th at Noon. Please bring your VALID driver’s license to pick up your event credentials. All entrants registering must be 18 years or older. Registration credentials include a window sticker for the vehicle and a wristband for the driver, one passenger and any children under 15 riding in the registered vehicle. Additional passengers age 15 or over riding in the vehicle will be required to purchase a spectator ticket. Additional tickets are available in advance at

www.familyevents.com

Powered by ShowClix.

Entering the fairgrounds: Going East on Como Avenue, turn left at Transient Way then right at gate 15. If you are going West on Como Avenue, turn right on Transient Way (1st street after gate 14) then right at gate 15.

We have a plan...

Talked to Pushrod yesterday, and finalized our attack plan for tomorrow & Friday.

Thursday:
Pushrod has the cones/stanchions in hand, and a hunk of chain & padlock. I've got the rope signage & Club EZ-Up. We're going to meet up at "Credential Pickup" around noon tomorrow. After getting our stuff go have lunch (probably at Dino's Gyros), then head back to the Fairgrounds. At the tick of 3pm (earliest allowed) we'll stake our claim to "the spot".
Once I get home I'll send out a mass-email confirming that we've procured "our spot" (or informing the masses of an alternate).

Friday "Dawn Patrol":
Pushrod, Scott "Spot" B, and I will meet at Jerry's Hdwe (Cedar Lk. Rd. & Louisiana, SLP) at 3am, then head over to Como Ave. We should be there around 3:20am and get in line. At that time of day (?) we should still be in the 1st twenty or so.

For others doing Dawn Patrol, if you're coming from the south or west 'burbs, you can hook up with us at Jerry's @ 3am, or we'll meet up on Como with the others and get together around 3:30!!

(Bryan - bring the Club chain & padlock with you whenever you plan to arrive on Friday. We'll use Pushrod's to secure our stuff just on Thursday pm).

Dawn Patrol on Friday is probably the most important. Since the reserving of spots is purely a courtesy thing, having several cars parked in our area "1st-thing in the morning" on Friday legitimizes our claim to the space we rope off. Once the other participants & security see that we really need the space (and we CAN fill it) Saturday & Sunday aren't usually a problem.

That said, we STILL NEED early arrivals on Sat & Sun for the same reasons!!

It's already in the car. I forget the combo but it was a custom one you did. I'm sure you remember it.

Thanks again to all who contributed and participated in CC 2013!  Especially John D and Craig for reserving the block corner, and making sure we had 'Chevelle Row' ready to go.  Thanks to Bryan for bringing the signs, taking pics, and his unending energy!  And, thanks to Chad for lining up the donuts and lunch for Saturday.

There are many others that helped in various ways, so thanks to All!  tiphat

I'm very proud to be associated with this club, and felt we represented well again this year!

I took very few pics, so I'm sure Bryan, Chad, and others will post some soon.  If anyone else took pics, post 'em up.

I would also like to send out a Thank you to everyone for organizing and contributing to a great 3 days.  It was great to meet our newer members, and had a great turnout on Saturday, with more cars represented then I have seen at any of our previous functions.nana

Holy cow. Still recovering but I had a ton of fun. Nice to put some faces to new names on here. I found out that Dave ('nSonS) lives real close and his younger boy (name again?) and my daughter are the same age and go to the same school. John D and I did a big lap with Steven (Cooz65) Just BS'ing and stuff, I think he had fun too.

Best turnout, and next year I think we need to secure the space across the street too?

Pics will come, need to sort through them and stuff.

I'll cover Car Craft as I saw it in the upcoming newsletter, I'm still hungover an afterglowing from this one.

Son's name is Scott.  Yes, that makes 3 Scott's hangin' with the club now.
