I have a friend looking at this Chevelle on EBay and I told him I would get some experts advise on what he should pay for it.  His first new car was a 71 Chevelle and he is looking for something as close to that as he can get.  This one has had some SS trim added that he intends to remove.  I told him he should be able to find somebody that he might get lucky and be able to find someone with stock parts looking to up grade.  I looks like a $12,000 - $14,000 car to me what would appreciate picking youR brains as well.  The link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330885800112&category=6164.

Thanks

The freshly painted exhaust pipes and floor pans would concern me a little bit... What else are they hiding?

What Derek stated and add in no power brakes and 4 wheel drum brakes. Probably started life as plain jane 307. Best would be to check it out in person...floors could be soft.

Hey John, what's wrong with bad floors...  all it takes is unbolt all the body mounts, lift the body, put in a new 1 piece floor pan, and HEY WAIT A TICK!  THAT'S HOW MINE STARTED OUT TO BE KING OF THE CAC 5 MONTHS LATER!  laughing

Seriously, it's definitely a Malibu, and I wouldn't go any higher than $10-12K since it's going to need an interior, and who knows what on the driveline.  Paint looks good in the pics, but you can NEVER tell from that without looking at it in person.

Florida cars scare me with salt water air (not that we can say much living in the rust belt...), and if anyone ever watched that collector car dealer in South Beach on TV wouldn't trust 'em as far as we could throw em'.

Thanks guys, you expressed some of the same concerns he has about the floor pans and what else they maybe hiding. I pass on your thoughts.

Thanks again!

If your friend is local, he could wait a couple months. There will be many cars coming out of the garages in April/May that he can view in person.

UNLESS, he needs an excuse to fly to FL to see it....nana

Mitch, he is from Chattanooga and has been looking for a while. I think he probably will end up passing on this one so if you hear of anything I would appreciate a heads up. Thanks!
