Wow, seriously? Man I tell you. Reading about these type of businesses closing up left and right is getting really, really old. It breaks my heart to be reading they are closing now too.

I am sure it is a decision brought on by economic and health concerns. I wish Larry and family the best!  tiphat

Looks like the real deal from the listing.

I'm sure Larry has his reasons, and I wish him the best future possible!  Thanks Larry for all your support of NCC and being one of the founding fathers by having the first gatherings at the 'old' Corvette Specialties location!  notworthy

That is sad but like Jon said, Larry needs to focus on his health.

Looks like we should be planning to attend the Feb 9th Chili feed to see them one last time.

I can make my shop available for the November voting meeting, if the club wants. I can fit 25-30 people in there pretty easy, if I get all the cars out...thumbsup

We have a couple pizzas places that deliver too.

As posted on Facebook:

The recession has been hard on the Corvette hobby. New Corvette sales have fallen dramatically, and people postponed repair or restoration projects. And Minnesota has made it harder for a small retailer to compete with the big on-line companies.

Meanwhile I have had a full year of health issues, spending almost two months in the hospital for two heart surgeries. I have spent half as much time helping the business as previous years.

We can no longer afford to do business in Minnesota. So we will be closing our doors at the end of February. For the month of February, everything in the store will be offered at 40% off. We will continue to charge only our actual costs for shipping. Used parts will go for any vaguely reasonable offer.

Starting March 1st, we will offer any remaining stock, plus all fixtures and equipment, for sale via CraigsList and eBay.

Kevin, Jim and I stopped there on our way back from Isanti. Ian was already there too. We got the last of the chili, a few bargains on parts, clocks and shirts and bid Larry farewell. He is looking forward to having more time to attend Club functions and eventually get his '64 out of a 23 year slumber and work on it. Hopefully, we will see more of Larry over the next few years.

Mike isn't too happy about losing his job and is looking for employment. If anyone knows of a position he could fill, he would like to hear from you.

Sad to kkow we won't making the trip there anymore.
