I've been working on something lately to help organize my shop. Here's a few pics to see if anyone can guess what it is.

I needed to drill 12 3/8ths holes in some angle iron and bought a drill press from Northern yesterday. When I went to drop the power head on the spindle, the cover was all bent and the motor mount too. I took it back today and exchanged it for a good one. I LOVE this drill !!!  I poked 12 holes thru 5/16ths steel in 6 minutes with it. That would've been at least a 1/2 hour or more with a hand drill and the holes would be crooked too. On sale for $59.99 off right now.

Yeah, I know, made in China but what isn't anymore ...rolleyes

 You're too quick, John...laughing

Threw some paint on it before mounting it in place.

Very tight for driving the fork lift right now but the little wifey managed to get me up there.

I still have 4 more strays around the shop to get up there and it will be full...doh

You sound just like the "wifey"....doh  I've given 4 -8 tire/wheels away in the past too. This doesn't include the 7-8 bare wheels I have buried in various locations around the shop either...rolleyes

Bryan, the fork lift is a manual trans too...thumbsup

The forklift becomes necessary when you run out of floor space. It enables one to stack "stuff" all the way to the 16' ceiling.........you'll see when you get one....laughing

Forklifts can be fun... just ask "Pushrod" to tell the tale about how he got his home....

Finished the "body lift' today.

Making hook eyes...

Ready for a test..

I left the chains long enough to meet in the center and they get a little long when using the equalizer..

Nice thing about the equalizer for unbalanced items...

Here the chains are bolted together without the equalizer. This will be better for use with an engine hoist, but there is no way to balance anything..

Next project was getting light in my blasting cabinet again. The fluorescent quit working over a year ago. I bought a new tube and it worked for a few hours and burned out too. I decided it must be the transformer. I tried to order a new one from Harbor Freight, but it is obsolete. I've been using the cabinet sparingly since with just the light thru the glass. NOT good. I looked on-line for a replacement light and all i find are flood light style fixtures for a lot of money so I went to Fleet Farm today and bought a bunch of parts for far less and put them in.

Dead light...

Outside...

New fixtures, wiring and switch. I still need to get some small clamps to hold the wire with the glass frame screws..

Inside..

And Xcel says "let there be light"... now that I can see again, I'll order some new gloves too.
