Is the forum dead or what???  dunno

Not sure if everybody is busy wrenching, watching football games, or burned out from all the political ads or what... but man this thing is dead!  Without Rick's Daily Blog about washing his cars, drinking coffee, and updates on his dog's life (don't get me wrong Rick-we love you man!  razz) the forum is comatose.

What's going on out there?  How about some project updates other than Gearlube and me, or what you are changing/improving/restoring on your car(s) this winter?

Well MAYBE  everone on here doesn't have the $$$$$ you & gearlube have to spend right now either. Which is a bummer for most. Seeing that the Hoildays are coming up sooner then you think. I mean Thanksgiving is a like 12 days from today. Then in a month it's Christmas. So maybe after the 1st of the yr things will pick up or maybe around the Christmas party. The site will pick up also. Hope so. Hope I'm not boring everyone with the morning blogs.rolleyes But it away to say Hello every Morning and see whats going on. It would be cool if more of you would stop in there and at least say hello or Good morning thumbsup.  its done on another site i'm on and works out great there. Thats why I tried it on here. But I don't see me stopping the blog anytime soon. laughing....So deal with it. I thought to myself when I 1st started it. That there would be more PARTICIPATION rolleyes But it works for me right now. I don't mind being like the morning news paper laughing. Hey have a great day. No matter what your doing. thumbsupJust do somethingrazz

This happens every year. Once old man winter gets going and snow starts arriving on the ground. People will hunker down and the traffic on the forum will pick up.

The Chevelle is "similar" to my car in that it has the same hood and the same wheels. However, it's different in a number of ways including:

1 year newer

roll bar

no wiper blades (I have wiper blades but no motor to run them)

color (mine is red but looks orange in some photographs)

this is an original BB car (my BB is through a heart transplant)

although my wheels are also Weld Draglites these are narrower in the front and wider in the rear

Rick said, Hope I'm not boring everyone with the morning blogs.

I enjoy reading Rick's comments (and any responses that are posted by others) although I haven't joined in myself.

Keep 'em coming!

Not a model, it is the November car in the ROAD WARRIORS 2013 calendar. I picked it up at The Carburetor Shop on White Bear Ave in Maplewood. I will be back there next week, I will check and see if he has some left.

Was your comment about someone finishing their car aimed at anyone in particular, or was it a goal for yourself ??

I've been busy with the '38 lately. I DID dig out the GTO and '70 Chevelle today and got them in the shop. I'm finally going to finish the power steering so it works along with the brakes and install a Pertronix conversion in the dizzy. Then it goes back on the storage side along with the '38 and the GTO gets spread all over the shop again...rolleyes

I took the stripes off the left side of my car last week. Maybe tomorrow I will do the right side. Then I will think about and eventually get around to clay bar'ing the body. After that I will get up the gumption to try and buff it shiny. Then comes deciding on paint for the new hood and the white roof.

My budget is $10 a week, so not too much is going to get done for a while.

We drove the Model Ts to Owatonna today for an all-T swapmeet. Had a few guys that seemed pretty interested in buying mine... might have to get another project before long.

Is Gearlube still working on his? Haven't heard anything for the past week or more.

I've been so busy between moving my parents after 54 years in their house, working a ton of hours, deer hunting and getting ready for a mini Chevelle project in the next few weeks that I haven't even thought about doing any work on my own Chevelle.

I won't be without a Model T for very long if it sold... I know I'd have some pretty upset little boys for a while.

I'm planning a tour for the T club next year, so I kind of need to have one that runs. hyper

I am working on mine. Will upload the new updates and pics. Rear suspension now done. Front springs and shocks are out. Now I am working on the vintage air. So far very easy. Will be mounting the box inside tomorrow. Routing hoses. Again I have been pacing myself.

I have been working on my 59 Nomad wagon, hopefully i will be priming it fairly soon.

I did decide to keep my Chevelle here for the winter (the daily driver will have to bear the cold in the driveway) so i can do some work on it this winter.

Nothing to major for now, maybe a new carb and intake, valve covers, maybe even install the gas tank i got from Stan (which is how i learned about the club).
then i might as well do the trunk floor.
and while in at it the rear fenders.
and the doors.
and the front fenders, and the ....this is basically how the current CAC project started.
oh well, it was so warm out that Cheryl and i put the top down and went for a cruise, not bad for the 10th of November.

Picked up a small journal crank and rods for my 327 today. Need to measure the crank and see where it is at for having it turned.  Still working on the 55, I just don't get left alone to spend any real time with it.

Classic CAC behavior...laughing  It's all sequences.

"I'll just do this ONE thing" and the next time you look, it's all in pieces.

You definitely fit right in, Bruce...thumbsup

i'm nearing the 2 year mark on "just repacing the rusty trim above the rear window" on the wagon.

it is why i keep trying no to do anything on the convert that has the potential to start the baal rolling down toward the.

keeping it here over the winter could prove to be risk behavior, fortunatly the shop really only has room for one car that is in pieces.

I have been deer hunting, and since my return been working on my other vehicles.  Intake gasket on 4.3, leaking tranny pan on my wife's Bonneville.  Replacing wheel bearing an steering components on the GMC Sonoma (same one as intake).  Haven't had much time for anything else.

Been lurking lately. Working like a dog on the garage. Not exactly a car project but car related. Need to finish it up before I even consider working on the cars. I'll post about it if you're interested.

Absolutely post the garage pixs, in fact start a new post with your garage project. Garages can be every bit as interesting as car stuff.

I'm in the organizationally challenged category as well so I'm afraid I won't be much help there.  If you saw my basement, you'd put me out of my misery.  :(

Okay, you guys asked for it.  It's a bit verbose:

I think you nailed it with everyone getting into hunker-down mode, and the politics...

I've been tinkering with my latest acquisition... looking at a new set of grips and a trigger.

COOOL!

Is that all stainless, or is the frame aluminum?

I was looking for an aluminum frame when I bought mine, but couldn't find a used one, and got a good buy on my all steel one.
Keith would like mine, it's a "V10" with exhaust ports on the top of the barrel. :D

All stainless - "Loaded"

Great story behind this... Belonged to a cop friend of mine, who's in the tail end of a nasty divorce. She got herself an obnoxiousy large/spendy ring, he just wanted a simple gold band. She didn't think this was fair, so she asked "what would you really want..." and it was this gun - a Springfield 1911.

But it wasn't really this gun, he didn't want stainless, or this, that, the other thing, but a very specific model/build. When she went to order/buy it, she saw that the higher end model(s) were only a few hundred more, so she got this one (not the one he wanted) because it was "fancier". So this thing has been a sore point from day one... then when she wanted it back or 1/2 the purchase price in the settlement it got uglier.

He didn't want it anymore, everytime he looked at it or the case it ****ed him off, so he sold it to me - for less than 1/2 of the average used price - and gave her the cash to shut her up.

Totally sweet for the price. I've always wanted a 1911 - they are just the "classic" semi-auto that everything else is patterned after or has improved on.

Ive been working on restoring a snowmobile for Charity. You can read about it here.. http://vintagesleds.com/bs/index.php/topic,68293.0.html

I also have mine to put back together since Brut is one of the feature sleds at Waconia 2013. www.mvss.com

The Chevelle needs the engine puled and some oil leaks fixed.... Ive really lost ambition for that right now.
