You can go with a thin gear 3.73 on a 4 series if that's close to the change you are looking for.

I know of a 2 series if you don't mind using a ring gear spacer.

Chris, I might be interested if Craig isn't...  I have 2.73's now, and will probably leave it that way for awhile since it passes way more gas stations than the BBC's did, but it's a one wheel wonder.  PM me with the price.

Stan does your car have a 12 bolt? I would assume it is only a 10 bolt.

Stan, if your going to an LS, that gear will likely be way too low for what ever transmission you plan to run.

Craig, here's a 3 series Eaton posi for $350 on CL.

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/pts/3230935895.html

That's about $50 off new price, and the ad says it only has 50 miles on it.

Eaton 3 Series Posi Carrier 30 spline came out of 1968 Caprice switching out for a Full Spool no ring & Pinion included This Carrier has seen about 50 road miles and the rest of the time at the Drag Strip. Works Great and have no issues with it.
