Some more info...

Where we are:
See the attachment (you'll need the password!)

Things to Bring:
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Cash
- Credit Card
- Camera & Batteries
- Walking Shoes
- Folding Chair
- Blanket
- Cooler w/ ice, beverages, snacks/food
- Cell Phone
- Spare Car Keys
- Umbrella (shade... not for the "R" word)
- Car Detailing "stuff"
- Meds and/or Epi-Pen (if needed)
- Tote Bag / Pack (brochures, etc.)
- Tool Kit
- "EZ-up" camp shelter (other than the Clubs)

"Dawn Patrol" details:
For those goofy enough to do it, there's a group of us that show up on Como Ave. around 3am each day. At this time we're usually within the 1st twenty cars. In the past, the Fair will open the Como Ave. gate around 7am, and allow people to drive in to another "staging" area, and line up in 4 or 5 rows. At 8:00am they'll release the rows (in order) for the scramble to your parking spots.
Why do this?? For one the cameraderie - you'd be amazed at the people you'll meet. Another is to get to "our spot", and guarantee our ropes haven't been moved and our spot poached. We can also get the EZ-Up tent, tables, and other things set up. Plus you're guaranteed a good parking place with the Club.

Food & Beverages:
- The Club will provide a cooler, ice & bottled water for the Club members.
- On Saturday, the Club will provide a lunch of Subway sandwiches.
For any other meals or drinks you are on your own. (Giggle's walleye sandwich is a must have!)

Keep tabs on this post for updates or changes. We are not guaranteed the parking area shown (link to map on 1st post) but will do everything possible to get it!!

So basically, we need to get over there before 3PM thursday to save a spot.

IMO. From here on out, we may want to continue our plans on how we plan to do this via group emails or something of that fashion. Just like we have had to do the last few years. With spots getting harder to come by, even the less desirable spots, we dont need "competing" clubs knowing what our plans are. (Mod edit - clues to our location removed... it's in the password protected map above. Keep the location SECURE!... don't even HINT about it.)

Also, we typically get a head count on who is planning to show on what given days so we can get an idea of how many spots to save, an RSVP you could say. No need to figure out that now, we can start getting an idea of how many spots to save the week of the show or prior to it. Some are still up in the air on what days they plan to show.

Finally, another recommendation is to make sure you have gotten your credentials on thursday or friday if you plan to park with us on Saturday, which is obviously the busiest day. If you try to arrive at 6am, you WILL be waiting in a potentially huge line to get into the fairgrounds area where registeration is, then another line you will stand in waiting to get your registeration, then another line again in your car waiting to actually get into the fairgrounds, plus the time it takes to idle, putt and coast at walking speed, through the fairgrounds on your way to our spot, its also not good for those rising temp guages. In other words, it can be a major cluster just getting to our spot on Saturday morning that even if you RSVPed a spot, saturday morning registeration has been known to keep guys from getting in past the 10am mark, thus risking loosing your spot because of the required rules. But mainly because you avoid a HUUUUUUGGGEEE hassle when you already have everything all ready to go when you get to the fairgrounds Saturday

I thought I would have my wifes car done by CC but will not so I paid for a car and admission and will wind up with just my pick up. So with that said I can bring in the tables chairs and pop ups, so if you want me to bring things let me know. I can bring my BBQ and cooler if needed.

I have the club tables and big chain/padlock, but no car to get them there in. Would you be able to stop by some evening to get them? My new place is 2 blocks off the Menard's/Lowe's exit in Coon Rapids.

I'm usually home a couple minutes after 4 any day during the week. I can usually get out a little earlier too if need be. Call me tonight and we can figure out a day/time.

We're trying to make it happen, waiting for payments from vendors, etc.

I will say though, that it's tough to balance getting cars here with how limited the space is and the severe lack of spectator parking, we can't handle more than about 400 show cars and about 50 or so spectator cars at a time.
