Arrrgh, John D's luck has hit my place

So I get home from work and my wife says the pump hose for the pool is leaking. We already had replaced the hose once, but now it's where the hose connects to the pool side. A simple fix, but it took a little time to cut the hose shorter and re-attach it while it spews out a gallon every 4 seconds from both sides.

Thinking the day is done, I change out of my work clothes and double check with her about dropping the chevelle off tonight to get a little tranny work done since I need a ride back. She says why don't we do it right now since the weather looks to be getting bad. I call, we fly out there and an hour alter I'm back home, no issues.

Wife goes downstairs and says "remember that noise last night?" (sunday night there was a loud thump, I figured it was our younger one either rolling into the wall of falling out of bed again-she does it a lot) "Come look". Turns out the ceiling fan slipped out of it's pivot ball holding bracket and was hanging 6" off the ceiling by only the wires now. Luckily we didn't have it running that night, but I hit the breaker, undid the wires and lifted the fan up and out of the socket and pulled it down. I go to pull the bracket down and a chunk from the ring falls out. Go to Menard's, get a new mount and re-hang the light/fan assy. Works better now too.

Since I'm in the mode, I go to install the replacement crank assy for a front window. Cut it open, take out the old one, finally look to see that they don't match. This is after already having been to Menard's once today. When I was there the first time, I had exchanged the crank since I noticed I bought the wrong side. So I go back to Menard's and swap for the correct one. Go to reinstall it and muff up the wood trim that conceals the mechanism.

Hopefully that's it. not so spendy as John at least.

I think its pretty safe to say John would have much rather had those problems of yours instead. Boats are an entire set of headaches alone.

Dude, stuff like that is just a normal day in my life. My wife even laughed when she read that and remarked I've gone back to Menard's or Fleet Farm multiple times for a single project.

Glad you got a handle on it all...thumbsup

Yep, I plan on multiple trips to the hardware store for any DIY project.  I make checklists, plans, you name it, and I still end up going back for something I didn't anticipate or broke during the project...  banghead
