Since the show starts at 4 p.m., I'd think you'd want to be there between 3 and 3:30 p.m.?

Rachael and I plan to be their, unless the weather is bad.

Derek mentioned at the benefit that he might take the model T.  He only a few miles south of PI.

I don't think I can make it this weekend, but I do plan on bringing the T to the cruise-in some nights this summer.

Here's the show guidelines off their website:

Saturday Night Show & Go's are open to all things with wheels. Cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, if it drives we want to see it.

1. No tire burn outs
2. No exhaust flames or hydraulics allowed
3. No sidewalk parking
4. No rollerblades, bikes, skateboards
5. No pets near the vehicles
6. No coolers
Laws, rules and city ordinances will be enforced.

I like their rules, but I guess Pushrod won't be going thanks to # 1!  laughing  gearbangerlaughing

If the weather stays favorable, I won't make it either, as I really need to go cut grass/weeds at the cabin. Spent this past beautiful weekend working on the Pete so I could work 12 hours today...banghead

Dereck, given the proximity you should plan to come out to Cheese Fest with the kids one of the days. Fireworks on Friday 9:45P behind school by Football field. Your kids may disown you later in life if you do not take them to the rides etc.

It is a cruise in 4PM should be fine not sure never made it there 4PM or earlier we would just go after supper. The kids and I would get there around 6P stay for 45min-1hour (or as long as my 6yr old and 9yr old can take of it ) then take off to A&W after for some free Ice Cream. They use to give free A&W ice cream tickets at the show & afterward it was where we would go, recently it went out of business. Now we sometimes cruise up to Zumbrota afterward to Dairy Cream.

Given Cheese Fest is going on I have no idea how busy it will be. I would assume people would go hang out and perhaps walk 5-6 blocks to the Festival and check things out down town. People usually cruise in an out til dark. There is usually 20-40 cars there at one time. I never ever had an issue on finding a parking spot.

The best way to get to the car show from cities (I think Pine Island exit is 72 or there abouts 5 miles past Zumbrota)
Get off at Pine Island Hwy 52 exit. make right at stop sign on to Main St.. drive about 1/4-1/2 mile go past old A&W and BP gas station make a left by Land O'Lakes and Grain Elevators go to Island Pool & Pins. There should be signs.

To check out Cheese Fest do not make the left at Grain elevaltor old BP gas station area (just make note of it) stay straight on Main St. about 1/2 mile. The Festival is about 4-5 blocks of rides and games and food vendors on Main St. There is a Hot Rod shop right in the middle of it all which just opened check it out if open. I do not know much about them JJ loves it there as they have an old working pin ball machine. For their grand opening they closed Main St & had a car show like we use to to do in Pine Island. There were about 30-40 old rat rods & other classic muscle cars there we took the Chevelle : ) and what was funny many locals now think the car shows are on Main St again.

Here is their URL

I have NO idea what our day plans will be Leah is working the weekend. JJ is in the basball tournament on Sat behind the PI school and we will be at the car show sometime & I am sure the kids will to be at the festival on rides etc.

It was very nice seeing Kevin and his wife today at the Pine Island cruise in. Sure was a hot one today & have been outside since 7:30AM, burnt to a crisp, JJ was pretty tired playing ball til 6P in the heat. He did not want to go to the cruise in.
Beling a chevy guy I hate to say this but Kevin's Mustang is a very very nice car WOW. Plenty of power beutiful and gets 28MPG. He let me sit in it and I could NOT believe how comfortable it was. I loved it.

Sorry, if I missed anyone else I did not get to the show till 6:30P

It was a fun show; we were able to see some very interesting cars. That 1960 Pontiac Ventura was absolutely amazing; I wish I could have talked to him longer, I also wish I would have taken some pictures.

One of those NASCAR proto types, original cast iron headers, not manifolds but headers, 389 CI Tri Power, Extra Duty (solids) 390 HP engine, 4 speed, aluminum bumpers, eight lug wheels. Jim, I need to come back down just to talk to the guy some more and get some pictures.

It’s always amazing what people pull out of their garages, nice show; thanks for the invite.
