Wow, busy summer already

Seems there are too many things/events to keep up with all of a sudden. I could've/should've been in 4 places yesterday, the 19th.
The Chevelle Club meeting, Camaro Club opening/summer cruise, our township clean-up day and the Rivertown Art Festival in Stillwater. With the weather forecast for rain possible in the early afternoon, I chose to spend the morning with my better half at the Art Festival. We try to hit this every year for handmade gifts for family members' birthdays during the summer and the occasional addition to our home decor.

My father passed away rather suddenly the end of April and I have been dealing with the disposition of his possessions with my brother and sister. I will also now be running up to the cabin occasionally to cut grass and do any needed maintenance. My brother has his own place up north and doesn't have any interest in the cabin and my sister lives in Grand Marais, so it's kind of up to me to keep this going.

Hoping to still make a few club events over the next several months, but with other obligations, it may not be as many as I would like.

Mitch, sorry to hear about the passing of your Father.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Even though I wasn't the oldest of my siblings, I was my Dad's executor when he passed away in April 2 years ago, and worked with my sisters to sell his house and determine what to do with his things.  It went well as far as those kind of things go, but still wasn't easy.

June will be the 10th anniversary of the passing of my Mom.  My only advice to others is enjoy your parents while they are still around, even if they are sometimes a pain.

Thanks for the condolences, Stan. He was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer last October and went thru 6 chemo treatments. They did a PT scan in January and said he looked good......cancer had shrunk and he was feeling fairly good with a prognosis of another 6-12 months. He was scheduled for another scan on April 28th but he started feeling very ill a couple weeks before. He finally called and told them that and they had him come in on the 27th. The cancer had spread to his liver and in the 3 months, had destroyed it to the point that there was nothing to do but let nature take it's course. He died three days later.

My younger brother is the executor but he was such a basket case, that I was doing more of the funeral and interment arrangements than he. We are now starting the process of empting the house to sell.
