If you want to know now to tip over a engine stand, just ask? Getting ready for winter. Put the chevelle away and made room for Silvarado, Impala and Snow blower. Did something foolish. Engine stand tiped and block hit the floor. Contact was made with front driverside pad on the block. That the only part of the block that made contact with floor. Left a 4" mark on the concrete floor. Can't see that anything was damaged on block. How likley is it that I cracked the block.
I would at least ask the machine shop what the likelyhood is you cracked it. I wouldnt think hitting soft concrete like that would damage it. At least from the height from an engine stand. Having it done again is cheap insurance considering the price to build a motor though.

While you guys were busy arguing about the glass of water. I drank it!
I would think you should be OK. I tipped over a 261 inline six on a stand once. This was the complete engine just pulled from the truck. After it was disassembled and taken to the machine shop, no cracks were found.
But the re-magnafluxing is cheap insurance.

Plan to have it magnafluxed and hoping for the best. Just kind of tipped, front pad went down about 18" before it hit. Seemed like it took forever for it the hit the floor. Just hit perfect on the edge of the left front pad, leaving a scuff mark about 1/16"x4"on the concrete. Good thing my foot wasn't in that position.
I did a dumb thing. To get the stand and block where I wanted it in the garage, it seem to sit ok when taking the pin out of one of the leg and move it into place. When I pushed it, it tipped.
