Performance Exhaust Shop?

Okay guys- I need some local knowledge here.

I plan on installing my Tri-Y headers and I want to have them tied in to my existing exhaust system. This isn't a huge deal, but I want it done right, once, so I don't have to think about it again.

I have a lot of good connections in the area but I've yet to find a really good exhaust guy. I'd like someone who's capable of just about anything and provides the very best quality, and is willing to stand behind it. I'm less worried about price- I'll pay a bit more for the best possible work. I don't want any pipes drooping down, and I have some special requests I want to make. I need someone who understands how important a tight fitting system is, and who is capable of fabricating a decent X-pipe and some custom bends.

Do any of you guys have a first class exhaust guy you can refer me to? Of course I'd prefer someone South of the river closer to me, but I'll travel a bit to get exactly what I want.

He's also a club sponsor, been around for years. He's in Roseville near 694 and Rice St. Don't know much about his skill, but he's also a MSRA advertiser. I would definately call and ask him if he's able to do it. I bet he is. If not, I have 2 other places you could try up in my neck of the woods, but try Muffler Man first.

There's been a couple of very un-happy Camaro Club members with the Muffler Man lately. Another member has ALL his custom work done by a guy near Forest Lake. He works with stainless too and will build it EXACTLY the way you want it. The guy I know is extremely detail oriented and this is the only place he will go. It's a long haul for you but if you're interested in calling, I'll get the name and number.

What about Heartthrob up in Litchfield? I know they do mandrel bends, rather than the crush-bent type stuff that most muffler shops do, and they specialize in custom stuff for hotrods and modern performance cars... they also do kits for the DIY'er.

I used an Impala SS Heartthrob kit (packaged and sold as JEGS brand) on my old '95 Caprice wagon and it seemed to be well made.

OK I"m going to try Tony's guy first. It's pretty close and he has good experience. I'll share the results with you guys (good or bad) once it's done. You should all be able to see it at Car Craft. Thanks guys- you all rock and it's stuff like this that makes me proud to be in this club. Honest recommendations is what it's all about.
