APB-Previous Owner looking for his Black '71
Permalink

I was contacted by someone looking for their old '71 black Chevelle.  If you have any knowledge or know how to help him locate it, let me know and I'll contact him.  Let's see if we can help out a fellow Chevelle guy (he also owns a '70 Chevelle convertible)  Thanks.  Here's what he emailed me:

Stan, I am looking for my old 71 Chevelle and wondered if you knew of the car or could check with your members to see if anybody knows about the car. I bought the car in 1980 and drove it for a few years and then restored it in 1985-86. My wife and I showed it at several shows and drove and enjoyed the car. I sold the car in about 91 to a customer of my step dad and he sold it at a auction a couple years later. I had heard it went to Minnesota but never thought about it much. Recently I have been thinking about the car and did a title search and it shows it is registered in Minnesota . The car was black with white stripes and has a 70 402 and turbo 400. It also has a black bucket seat interior. It was originally a code 43 with jade green interior which I changed to black in 1983. The VIN is 136371K215196. I have a 70 Chevelle convertible with a 396 and 4 speed that has been in the family since 84. I am curious about any info on the 71.

Let's keep an eye out for a black '71 Chevelle with a white stripes/buckets/402/TH400 with the VIN number ending in '5196' as I think there's a good chance they might be at CC.

The previous owner sent me a pic of his '70 SS 396 Vert that's been in his family since 1984.  Take a look.  It's NICE!!!

Looks like the convertible version of Brads old El Camino.
