I was wondering if anyone would comment on that. I love it.

Scan them into your printer, upload to your picture folder, upload to your picture host and then get it on here !!

 I never really needed the use of a scanner so I dont have one. If I got one to scan this stack of pictures I have. I probably wouldnt ever use it again. At least I dont think I would.

I always thought those two pistions banging away where the coolest avatar I'd ever seen. Chris, if you want some 35mm pix's scaned bring them to the next meeting, I'll scan them and put them on a disk for you.

thats a cool car chris. always wondered what your car looked like. also always wondered just how many old cars you have? are you going to school for hvac if so where do you go.

DANG, that's a NICE looking ride !!! What does it need to be road worhty ? I remember something about oil burning, so it needs an overhaul ?

 I have 2. This 66 and a 69SS thats a long term project. I also have a 76 GMC pickup thats been in storage since the early 00s.

Yup. I am in school for HVAC and attending the HVAC progam at Dunwoody. Had enough with automotive. Should have gotten out many years ago.

 

If it's roadworthy but needs a little work, heck most of the cars in this (and ALL clubs) need that. I couldn't just let it sit because it uses a little oil. If the hole in the floor concerns you, I have sections of floors that I've removed from 2 cars that we may be able to patch it with. Ignore the trunk for now, mine is more gone than there but if I can find a way to complete the build, I'll throw a mat in to cover it and call it good. I will drive mine and it looks like a barn find compared to yours. Parts in boxes are paid for, all it takes is time to install, no cost involved, UNLESS they are part of a sequence...

I hear ya about no money. I dumped way more into my '66 than I should've over winter thinking I was going back to work about now. I have NO good prospects for work in the immediate future and the car is on hold indefinitely as of now. I can only complete what I have parts/paint on hand for.

If you want to get yours out of moth balls and fix the floor, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help. I'll probably have time....

Thanks for the offer. Ill let you know. You can take a look at it and tell me what you think. Although, its not easy to see unless you raise it on a hoist. Carpet is still in it and its still in good shape. I forgot to mention. One or 2 of the floor pan braces have rust holes in them as well. Thanks to Dave Seitz. I bought a very nice set that was carefully cut out of a 66 wagon that Karl used to have.

The reason I parked it in the first place was that it was becomming more of a stress to drive it then it was to enjoy it. Then there was the time I nearly got thrown out of Car Craft for what the guy thought was burnouts but really me starting up the car to leave for the night. It really wasnt that much smoke.

Sounds like the underlying issue is the oil smoke and the stress (embaressment) it brings.  You've already had the heads gone thru and, assumedly brought up to date for unleaded fuel. From this point it needs the rings/pistons/cylinder walls freshened. This doesn't have to cost many thousands of dollars, like most "rebuilds" seem to be. For around $500, we could clean and re-use the pistons, run a ball hone thru the cylinders to break the glaze and install new rings. Probably change the bearings, as long as they are out and a gasket set. This would be an "old fashioned" re-ring to get you back on the road. It would be fine for many years with the few miles it would get driven and you could enjoy it while getting into a better position financially to do all the things you have planned.

 Thats exactly whats been going through my head the last few years. Or just pick up a 454 off craigslist and swap them out for now. Also forgot to mention that the mounts on the outside of each seatbelt up front are also rusted through. So no safety belts. I always kind of felt iffy about that.

Mitch helped me put my engine back together this winter. Always more fun when you have someone working with you on a project. Here's hoping you get it back on the road.
