Did they make V-6 ones that were different than V-8 ones? I thought 4L60s were made that way, something about the number of clutches?

I am looking for a replacement case only. I have a 2004R core, but one of the bellhousing mounting tabs is broken out of the casting. If I were to pick this up I would have two transmissions, one still needing a new case. Anyone know where I could find a replacement case?

I would start by calling all the transmission shops in your area and asking for a bare case. They sometimes end up with them if the cost to rebuild is more than an owner wants to spend. Any trans you get from a recycling yard or private party is going to be complete.

I doubt you will find a cheaper core than that.  I've seen them from 100-300 (for non working or case only) around the cities, and they are tough to find.

Agree......I seriously thought of picking it up for my Camaro to replace the PG, but I have everything, except a transmission now, to swap it over to a 4 speed and would rather have that instead.

Loren, give John at Master Transmission in Rosemount a call to see if he has any cores.  He's the one that rebuilt my 2004r trans and may know of some around.
