Snow Day...

Didn't get a dispatch last night for today, no phone call yesterday or this morning, and nothing as of 9:45...

Went into the shop and found the "Technician" PC was locked with an unknown password so I couldn't access the schedule (even if I knew where it was filed)...

So - putting the Union "Show Up Pay" 2 hours on the timecard for today, and working on the car!

I stayed home and took a vacation day. Pretty icy under the snow up here in Cambridge at least in my driveway because that's as far as I've ventured...

Yep I called in and said can't make it. Snow plow had not come down my road and I got stuck in my car in front of my house.

Yeah, this sucks. Yesterday my yard was 50% snow free. Now I've got 3" of heavy crap and yes, there is a layer of ice on the bottom from the rain overnight. Hard to remember 5 days ago I was basking in 83° sunshine...

Have been sick at home all week and the kids and wife stayed home today and I had to go back into the doctors so they could find out what I have. So the snow day is 2 boys fighting all day while I try to sleep.

Dave get well soon, hope you feel better and can get back to working on your car quickly.

Steve, two questions, #1. Did you get mostly rain last night? #2. Are you on high ground?  Lots of water in your area.

I was a half hour late for class this morning and it was very frusterating. What normally takes a half hour or less took an hour. And this was only the second day of a new class im taking this quarter.

Ill tell you what. Usually im cool all winter long with this season. I can deal with it right into spring. But this winter is really starting to get old big time. Especially the past month or so. Snow melts, another snow storm arrives, snow melts, another snow storm, snow melts again, another storm brings another 6 inches of snow.

This mornings commute was one of the worst I can think of in a long time and I dont really commute that far.  Mother nature is playing a sick joke on us. Dangling a carrot, a piece of cheese, a dollar, what ever you want, then she pulls it away from you when your about to grab it.

We got rain/thunder all night. We did get maybe an inch of snow but most of that has melted already. I'm not going to get flooded (even though I HAVE to have flood insurance) However I am getting some water in my basement.
