I had the day off, so I was able to run some errands. Met with Larry at Corvette Specialties this am (details to follow at the next meeting), and then my wife and I went to a place called Building Materials Outlet in Eagan. They are a giant warehouse (actually a couple linked together) that sells and consigns leftover building materials and stuff to the public and contractors. Need a new door? they have several hundred interior and exterior, prehung and not, and are priced somewhere from $25 to $150, double for french style. Windows? tons in all sizes and shapes. Cabinets? You could re-do a whole giant kitchen in oak for under a grand I bet. Example: 48" Oak base cabinet new $80. Sinks, tubs, trim, etc. All at bargain prices. Carpet is cheap and plentiful. Nice tiles for $250/pallet. Locksets and faucets for 50% or better off. Buyers pay 12% premium. Most of this stuff is all either wrong spec from what was ordered or never used. I saw some had tags that looked like it was bought at auction.

Bryon, several time a year they have auctions and clear the place out. I watched one day as 36" solid core oak doors went for $1.00 each. There are several really good deals to be had, inventory turns over fast, always something different on the floor. If your going to buy there do your home work first. No warranties no returns.
I got the wood flooring for my shop there, 1.5" x 6" tong and grove Douglas Fur for less then $1.70 a sf, that would normally go for about $9.00 a sf.
Great deals to be had but do your homework first. Great place to eat just down the street called Starks Dinner.
