Well we finally got everyone in one place. To install my new 342 gears. So this weekend new rear end set up. New gas tank install also. Thanks TIM :).  Also installing some goodie's from NPD I bought on my rip to Michigan. Trying to get everything done. So I can make one last trip to Anoka & Hastings this month. ( I owe one to Stan) :)  Ok on the way to help finish this up. :)    C YAa

Rick, did you actually stop by the NPD store in MI?  I would be like a kid in a candy shop there!  biggrin  I either buy most of my parts from them (usually lowest price and 2 day shipping std.) or Ground Up/SS396.

Let us know how the 3.42's work out.  I'd LOVE a ride in it!  One of the Chevelles I'm considering buying has 4.11's and I'd probably put 3.42's in it (assuming it's the right carrier series... not sure how high of a gear you can go on the same carrier as a 4.11?)

I just put 4.11s in my car... oh, and overdrive went out on the cruise to the picnic. 65mph is now 3700rpm confuse (compared to 2000rpm with my old gears and O/D)

I know I won't be getting any speeding tickets... at least until the 6-speed goes in.

BTW, you can't put 3.42s on a 4-series carrier... you'll need a 3-series (or 2-series with an aftermarket thicker ring-gear)

Yup. Stan. This is my 3 time in 3 yrs that I went to that store. Only bad thing is. Theres nothing to see. Just a BIG counter with catalogs on it. And about 6 to 12 guys behind it. Not really a candy store. Where you can reach out and touch somethings. But they have it ready in about 30 sec to a min. Then you can touch, smell , feel. :)  NOW!!  As far as the 342's gear. WHOLEY CRAP BATMAN. :)  What a change. It takes off like a rabbit. Can just pulls & pulls. Its a amazing feeling. Did I play with it on the way home. HA HA HA HA Only  1 or 20 times. hee hee hee. With those big ass tires on the rear. Theres no laying donw a black patch of rubber. It just launch's it self forward. And does it NOW. Puts you back in the seat. I think my rpm's were around 26 rpm at near 70 Trying to watch traffic on 94 from John's house to mine was a mess on Sunday afternoon. So I'm saying 2450 to around 2600. You can ride in it ANYTIME STAN. Hell you can take it out by yourself. You don't need me to hold you back. :)
