What color??

Give me your thoughts guys and gals. As we get older we tend to want to go back to the way things were.

I'm playing with the idea of taking the Elky back to it's origial color. I hated it then, used to call it pea green, now I'm starting to like it. Pix's are poor but ya get the idea, the one of the Elky green was taken 30 years ago. Let me know what you think.  I'd keep the Z15 wheels.

I like it now but I also like the green and it's unique. Would you leave the
stripes off?

I prefer the new color. Can you save it for me if you change? Maybe put it in a box or something?..... That's the colors I want.

Kevin: The only green I kike is in my wallet. This is my opinion. I HATE GREEN. Sorry but you asked. Green wasn't mean to be on Hot Rods. I don't know for the life of me. WHAT the hell the factory was thinking. Painting Cars like our Green. Almost any other color is better. Theres NO POP to it. These cars are made to stand out a bit. Now this is all my way of thinking. :)

69SS that is a '72 elky right? Is the original color Gulf Green?

Speaking from experience, not liking the color as a kid, I too changed my '72 Vert from Gulf green to darker spring green, now that it is restored to original color with clear coat - it is beautiful! Even the old guy - Ricks70SS admitted it was a head turner.

Now with that said - I would prefer to be the only '72 cruising around town with that color so leave it alone! biggrin

She's right. That color on her car is a Head turner. Theres only one that color. You won't miss it. We all have different choices in Colors. Or they would all be red & Black. :) Paint it the color that makes YOU HAPPY Kevin. Don't worry about what everyone else thinks. It's YOUR car. Enjoy it. Nothing wrong with the color thats on it now. But I think a lot of us get tired of the same color after a while. If we were all painters. We'd have a different color every season. I know I would.:) But at $ 6 grand to $ 10.000 That isn't going to happen. Have a great day. :)

or some shade of blue.

I like mine and Brad's. Very few red and white. In fact, they're the only 2 like them I have seen in person. I did see an ad once for a 72 same colors as mine, though.
