What were your numbers.. Dyno, Autocross, and Launch box?

What did you place?

I believe I placed 3rd...

Autocross was 39.0XX
Launchbox was 5.3 (I think... can't remember if that one was clean)
Dyno was 256hp/289tq (just where I expected to be)

Next year I'll be on DOT approved race tires so I can eat some peoples' lunch on the autocross... Schwartz ran 38.90 on Hoosiers (in a car 1400lbs lighter than mine) and Johnson ran a 38.2 with big "Recommended for competition use only" Nittos and more than double my horsepower. My 200-treadwear street-tires just couldn't compete with that, so I had to drive smarter. wink

I think I could have been faster on Saturday, but I spent most of the day with the family before heading down there, and only made 5 runs before the rain came in... that rain took a lot of grip out of both courses by washing off the rubber, and bringing in some sand.

My last run on Sunday was my worst (not my slowest, but my worst display of driving)... I got on the brakes too late in the very first turn, trail-braked way too hard, so I pushed wide, then used the throttle to get the car to rotate and overheated the rear tires... rest of the run was sloppy as heck because I had no grip left in the rears so I made smoke all over the track, and ran a 40.0XX. Schwartz's had their camera on my car for that run, so it should be a fun one to watch my face as I screwed up.

Derek, I think your stats show how much of an influence the driver has versus the car's ability.  You were able to do things as good or better than the competition that had the mechanical advantage.

Kind of like when I loaned my cheap golf clubs to a relative and he shot a 32 on a par 38 course when I could never break 50!  biggrin

Yeah Stan, the funny thing is I'm a truly mediocre driver at the SCCA stuff. 2 weeks ago in Winona, I made 12 runs with a best of 53.2. I let a nationally competitive driver make 2 runs, and he ran a 51.3 and a 50.8, having never driven my car before. 2.5 seconds is huge!

I was too shy to say hi but I was also in the Real Street with my non-Chevelle. I saw you and your car and was very impressed. I wish my Chevelle handled like that. :)

What car did you have in RSE? Your Chevelle is just a few suspension and tire upgrades away from handling as good or better than mine. wink

I had the black Cobra. My Chevelle needs a brake system, any suggestions? :)

Investigating Wilwoods now. But no need to hijack. I was very impressed with your car.
