Lakeville Pan-O-Prog Cruise Friday Night!

Anybody going to the Lakeville POP cruise-in Fri. night or the show Sat. afternoon?

Fri. Cruise-In

http://autoswalk.org/component/joomlistings/ad/view.html?adid=1646

The cruise usually gets 600+ cars and it goes in and around the outskirts of Lakeville.  There's a mini-show as the cars gather at the high school and then people line up all along the cruise route and give thumbs up, scores on handmade signs, cheers, and some put water on the street for those that want to get a little crazy.  Then 150 cars get to park in downtown Lakeville for a show.

It's one of the biggest metro south side events in the summer and the forecast is looking great!

Sat. 'Official' Show

If anyone wants to caravan to the Fri. cruise-in or Sat. show, let me know.

Stan, pretty sure my wife and I will go.  Looks like registration is from 3-6 at Lakeville south HS.  There will be music  and food available during this time.  You can get a pass for the later parking area down town if you are one of the first 175 to ask for one.  Then the cruise starts at 6:30 and is expected to continue to 8:00.  From there you can park downtown (if your one of the 1st 175) or go  home or whatever.

We are both retired, so would get there early, thinking like arriving at 4:00.
Would this work with your schedule?
Jim and Rachael

Jim, I usually have Friday afternoons off as we get summer hours where I work (35 hours during the week and 5 hours on Friday) so I'm usually off in the afternoon.  But with the Holiday this week, we are working a regular schedule.

My wife's going to ride with me too, and she doesn't get home until 5 p.m.  So, we won't be at the high school until around 5:30 p.m.

Wish I could go earlier, but it's not going to work out.  Maybe I'll see you at the 'pre-cruise' show in the parking lot meeting place.

Got the Chevelle ready to go tonight for the cruise tomorrow!  Just need to throw in a few 'just in case' tools, some cold beverages, and charge the IPod for those 70's/80's tunes tomorrow after work, and the wife and I are ready to do some cruizin'!

Gosh... I sound like Rick before going to Car Craft!       j

Couldn't believe the size of the crowds the gathered to watch the cruise. Lots of cars.   Audience would have appreciated it if we had resurfaced the streets a little. But I didn't get home without the fan belt breaking.cry   Good thing I carried a spare.

The wife and I had a great time even though the cruise crawled through town and the inside of the Chevelle had to have been 100 degrees!!!  Like Jim said, LOTS of burnouts on the route.  I even saw some cars turning around and going back to the burnout stops for more!  I only did a couple of small ones before the wife stopped me!  biggrin

Saw Marshall from the club there too.  LOTS of Chevelles in the cruise also.

Here's some pics.

Gave a club card to the light blue Malibu in this pic.

This '68 SS BBC was for sale for $18,500.  Seemed like a good price for a very nice car!

Not a Chev, but a cool Cuda:
