The boot is old and has shrunk and dried. I think you are stuck with what you have. You can always try an aftermarket boot, they are not that spendy, and see how it fits. When I had my new top put on a number of years ago I was told there is a golden rule for convertibles tops to help them maintain there shape as long as possible and that is "when the sun goes down, the top goes up". Think about it and you will probably see the wisdom in the statement.
I am hoping some guys with 66 verts respond about the top sitting to high at the rear corners On TC. It looks like the rest of the top has shrunk very little. It appears it would have shrunk about 1 1/2” at the corners I don’t think likely. If top would sit down another 1” things would fit?

More likley what itch posted on TC. Top and frame not going dep enough in the well. I adjusted the hold doe clips as far as it would go. Then I folded the top different then as it was founded when I got the car ( maybe they folded it wrong when they put the new top on) . top fits down far enough on left side. Right side still a little high. Hoping sun does the rest As I see no other way of adjustment.
