Are you just wanting to make sure the stock hood with have clearance and still be able to close?

Which intake are you running there? Photo doesnt show much and I see both photos are now sideways for some reason. They were fine this morning. I believe the Edelbrock Performer RPM will fit but not sure if the Air Gap will fit, I also believe a Weiand Stealth will also fit under the stock hood but dont quote me on that. Most aftermarket intakes will need a drop base air cleaner.

take the air cleaner stud out, put a piece of styrofoam on top of the carb (tape over the carb mouth) and slowly shut the hood. if you're clear, then keep building it up. A brick of modeling clay works when you need to know exactly what the clearance is, kind of like plastigauge, just measure the crushed height.

Try this, take a five foot long straight edge, a piece of 1x2 wood would work. On your current hood IF IT WILL CLOSE NOW with this manifold setup, hold the straight edge against the hoods underside from drivers to passengers side about where your air cleaner will be and measure the distance between the hood and the straight edge. Then do the same with the other hood, the difference in the measurement is the change in hood clearance or delta.

You can then use Bryan's method to find your current clearance or try this, loosely crumble up a large ball of tin foil and set it on top of the carb with the stud removed then slowly and carefully close the hood.

I'm assuming you can now close the current hood.

Hope this makes sense, if it doesn't DON'T CLOSE THE HOOD.
