Cruise for Troops pictures from last weekend

The pictures were all in reverse order from how they happened, so scroll back up and look at them again in reverse order now....

This was a great even I am proud to have a hand in helping. The initial registration had a flag corps, complete with bagpiper. There were 4 motorcycles, each ran without rain gear so their TTTT colors would be seen. Notice the Jeep, going topless too. Each turn had a large sign posted clearly showing the turn, and directions sheets were distributed to each entry. Every intersection we crossed in Roseville and St Anthony was blocked by law enforcement for a continually uninterrupted procession of cruisers. Several intersections on hwy 36 on the way out to Manning Ave were also blocked, as well as several more up near Taylor's Falls. Coming from the Hot Rod Factory to Maxx's, each intersection also had cruisers covering for us.

I can only imagine how big it will be next year with good weather.......

The day started out overcast and was rainy for the whole trip from Norm's Tires in Roseville up to Taylor's Falls. When we (about 50 cars/90 people) got there, it just sprinkled. Had lunch at the Frost-Top. It rained again all the way out to the Hot Rod Factory, but then cleared up again while there and on the way to the final stop at Maxx Bar and Grille. The party there filled the whole place (at 3pm on a rainy Saturday no less) where the Star Chiefs ban opened. Music played and people mingled, ate, and door prizes were awarded. Every veteran who registered for the cruise received a new American flag and the Holy Rocka Rollaz played a set. The cruise awards were given out and the silent auction continued while Jack Knife and the Sharps played. At the end, Cruise for the Troops raised over $3400 which was raised for Tribute to the Troops.

Tribute To The Troops is an organization of grateful Americans dedicated to preserving the memory of those men and women of our nation’s military who lost their lives while bravely protecting our freedom. It is in their memory that we honor and convey our heartfelt gratitude to family and friends left behind and extend our sincere appreciation to all veterans who have served, whether in war or in peace.

Here's some pictures I took:

That looks like a great time Bryan.  It's on my list as a 'must do' for next year.  For some reason, I thought it was last Sunday and not Saturday...  clonk

Props to the folks that drove in the wet weather (you included).

Next year it will be even better. We have a good charity in Tribute to the Troops, and the community support has been growing every year. Look for some big things coming for next year. Probably some cool format changes (because of how big this is getting) but the idea will be consistent.

Here's a video from the charity the proceeds went to. You'll recognize at least one person from my pics:
