El Camino autocross

Would some of the NCC members with "track" cars care to comment on the driving skills shown here?

(No, I'm not suggesting that I could do a better job of getting around the course. I may well have spun 180 degrees rather than only 90 degrees and been cross-handed a few more times.)

Of course, we all recognize this El Camino and driver that are better prepared for that type of action . . .

He's pretty bad, but I have looked worse at times. doh

(like the time I attempted to drive an LS3 powered Miata in the rain)

I think Derek's being a little too modest. After my initial post, I was looking at this page on the NCC site and clicked on the DK870_01.mp4 link at the bottom of the "July 2010 CC Summer Nationals" page and saw a skillful pass around the RSE course. The announcer described his passes as "very, very smooth."

It looks like he's having a lot of fun and that's the main thing.

Yeah, it's tough to get musclecar owners to try it, so I like to see someone getting out there and doing it, even if they should have taken a Xanax or two before making a run.hyper
